So my babies are getting some slight sunburn in this brutal heat and also wilted yesterday like mid-day until i moved em to shade (soil was moist) ..just happened recently...so should i keep em out the sun midday everyday? If so for how long per day and best time frame? (southern California, 5 gal smartpots)

Usually around four pm. If they wilted, they aren't getting enough water. It gets hot every summer, plants can handle it just fine

I'm surprised they are getting burned if they are well watered. Outdoors they like it hot as long as they are not thirsty. Just make sure that if you water them during the day that you water the roots NOT the whole plant. Sometimes wet leaves AND a bright hot sun can act like a magnifying glass a bit.

A really good rule of thumb I learned long ago growing Non-medicinal plants is to never water the leaves, just the roots. Wet leaves are an invitation to mold and insects. I do foliar feed but do it as the sun is going to bed or very early in the day. :leaf::leaf:

Not good to foliar feed at sunset because the stoma are more open during sunrise....jmo

I will buy that Fresno although I don't think i have witnessed any problems first hand. I use a weak foliar feed alot and I'm not really certain it does much except make me feel like I am loving them. It's more important to me indoors cause think I am washing the dust and such off the leaves

This is what has been happening everyday for the past week...sunburn >:(
That doesn't look like sunburn to me.
So what then?..... Its definitely sunburn...its only in the top canopy on older leaves (older leaves lose waxy sun protection over time), it starts in the middle of the leaf, and progresses from yellow then bleached then brown, common characteristics of sunburned/heat stressed plants...if it was on the margins or on lower older leaves i would agree with you that its something else

This is exactly happening to my plants. Exactly. And it started on some older leaves that get full sun at first, then started under the canopy, were they receive little sun. Currently having my water tested for toxicity. But then again too many variables. My heat stress in June looked nothing like that, but in June it wasn't 108 degrees. It's getting so bad I just paid an $400 expedited agri water test. If it doesn't spread to bad over the next few days I wouldn't worry about it, and then you're probably right. It's supposed to start cooling down tomorrow.

Thanks man wouldn't even of thought that... i use tap water that's drinkable and fairly good compared to other places....ill keep that in mind

Does it matter that the Master Kush is rated as indoor /outdoor and not full outdoor? Maybe its a little sensitive to extreme sun

Whatever you do, don't spray water on them unless you want them to burst into flames (see klowndahars thread for verification).

The colts looked good first pre-season game, already better than last year.
