When To Start Counting Flowering Weeks?

I guess everyone has to throw there 2 cents worth in on this one. I think what the person is asking is a very simple fucking question......"When do you start counting the flowering time of a plant?".

Answer: I don't think so. Some plants/strains will continue to veg and not show sexual maturity for some time after this.

Just my humble opinion.
well a plant should show signs of sex witch means it is mature before being flowered any way. so that being said its day1 one of 12/12. im not saying that that is the correct answer cuz i dont believe theri is a correct answer to this question, it is all up to the grower to count when the flowering process start and that is even if they do count. its not hard to tell when a plant is ripe

That's what he started with.

Click over to the last few pages. He didn't add my nutes until week 3 of bloom, and has been using them since.

Here.I did some navigating for you:

Available in 1, 2, and 5 gallon sizes. Each packet treats for one week, and I have packets for all stages of development.
So you need to mix 12 gallons for week 3 of bloom? 2 five gallons and one two gallon of week 3: bloom packets. Pretty easy.

Site will be up soon. I'm only selling samples now.

Thanks for the response times. And the reason for the question is when to start the flush?? not to debate how long though. I want to do a 2 week flush lets say.

so should I start flush at day 46 of 60??

Or like looking at trichs as a sign as to when to cut can trichs be a sign of when to flush??

If so?? want HEAD high/ like to clipp with little amber. Should start flush at 50% Clear/milky??

60 days from 12/12 is average time to harvest. You may like 55 days to 70 days, just depends on you. Sooner more energy, later, more couch lock, on average, depending on strain also.
Congratulations Rick45, that was a clear, concise, and right on the money answer. And a "newbie"! Rep+ for you Sir, you are a breath of fresh air in this forum.
If I may suggest, let's put away our calendars. We a dealing with a "Living Being" here, but the girls have neither calendars or watches.
Your smoke is ready for harvest when the girls say so, not when a certain date appears on the calendar. MANY factors play into when to cut. Strain, seasonal fluctuations, etc., but for me, it's all about the trichomes. When they are the color or combination of colors, THAT'S when to harvest. Last years grow, I cut a Great White Shark on Sept. 26 and last was Thai Super Skunk on December 7.
That would be a 2.5 month spread, and NO calendar involved....Trichomes.
Good luck & good grow.......BB

if you want to do a 2 week flush then yes you would do it 2 weeks before you chop. if you want the more head high then i would start flush when about 25 percent are clear and the rest milky. also if you have a heavy indica the color of the trichs wont matter to much to effect the high indicas are always more narcotic highs and couch locks. if you want head highs you should grow a sativa

Get a jeweler's loupe (10x mag). Look at the trichomes. When the majority (over 50%) turn milky (opaque), flush the shit outta the plant, give it another four days of 12/12, then 3 days of no light, chop, chop and you should be quite happy.

i see this no light for 3 days, and i say the same thing why do it it does nothing really its better to give the plant the 3 xtra days of light, in nature does it turn dark for three days when the plant is done. i completely disagree with that myth. and tybudz i will be looking forward to the update

When you grow indoors, you can throw nature out the window obviously. Man can grow better, and influence the Marijuana plant much more than what occurs in nature. "Better living through understanding and manipulating nature". No 24/0, 18/6 or 12/12 light sked truly immulates anything that nature provides. The three days of darkness makes the plant stress it's absolute last bit of energy into trying to regenerate itself and is proven to improve the strength and viability of the finished product.

the dark does nothing. tested it here for final potency. was weeker. it causes stress and stress brings on trich`s as a defence and its to late at that point to grow them and to fill them with canabinoids,.dark at 12/12 is the only 1 that does any help. stress brings on faster flower sets. is why nute co recomend not to use things like supewrthrive then or toehr bloom boosters till 2 weeks in. to let them stress and brings on faster/frostier buds.
the end dark will make it want to hermie not make it better,.thats nature and cant be stopped.

Two things in this life that I HATE: 1. Stressed beef, you taste it in every Mickey D or Burger King Burger; cattle slaughtered in very inhumane ways, have a very distinct and nasty flavor.
And 2. STRESSED cannabis! Say what you will, I can detect "badly" harvested smoke; to me it has a "desparate" flavor to it.
So for me, scratch the "black out"........BB

Can´t detect either. Don´t think most other people can either.

plants need 12 hours of darkness to enter the flowering cycle. the first time they get 12 hours of darkness chemical reactions take place within the plant, flowering has begun. it may take a week for you to see it, but it started several days before that.

the day to start counting is the day you change your lights to the "flowering cycle". ;)

I know what you mean. Now I'm REALLY confused, because I've always counted down from the time I switch over to 12/12.

But what do I know?

I've only grown for twelve years, produced hundreds of pounds of weed, and have a nutrient company. :)

but do you own a seed bank?
