Is there a general rule of thumb as to when to harvest your plants. I am growing outside. I don't have a microscope or other technical devices. I just want to lknow how long to wait
Thanks!

generally its best to harvest when they're done.

Of course the difference of growing in Alaska or Budapest could change harvest dates a smidge as could what you're growing sativa/indica.

A vague estimate could be around the time leaves change color and fall off the trees if that happens where you live.

What about indications on the pot plant?

If you don't have a $10 Jewelers loupe go get one off of Amazon or from your local grow shop, otherwise it's all a guess.

When the white hairs turn brown and recede into the calyx

You're screwed if it's going to hit 38. That will stop them in their tracks.

Not really.

Day time temps and the soil temps make more of a matter.
If daytime temps recover quickly to over 60F. And the soil temps are not dropping too bad.
You still get growth but slower.

if the day time temps are getting to 65F and over quickly......Your golden...

Direct sunlight is important here!

True, I wouldn't think it would take long for the soil to cool down pretty quickly though. He might as well ride it out as long as he can.

This time of year the temps in Oregon are kinda erratic. Days are high 50's to mid 60's with the occasional 70. Nights are high 30's to low 50's. Very variable. What will the cold temps do ? Will they effect harvest?
