When should I top?

Hey guys, this is my friend. I'm growing in 60cm*60cm space and I want her to capture as much space as possible.
She has 5 nodes already but she seems too short. Should I leave her develop more nodes?
What do tight nodes mean?
(I'm using 2 54w bulbs, and I'm currently have the 1 on. No feed yet cause soil had fertilizer itself. Transplanted a few days ago, stressed her a bit but waiting for her to thrive.)

You want to Top at Node 8....
2-4-6-8

Your plant is Just tall enough to top her now...
If You use the FIM method...You will get two main colas....
If You are planning to scrog screen....just cut the main stem just above node 8.
Its easier than having to fight two main colas to fit under a scrog screen

I personally top the 8th node
& clone node 2 & 4....leaving nodes 6 & 8 to grow in a North-South-East-West direction
that way you fill the screen as you grow...

Shout out DRU WEST...

I am not planning on using scrog, so I'm gonna fim her I guess?
What if I waited for 2 more nodes to appear and then fim?

You can do as you please...

If You want to give her 2 more nodes go ahead....
It doesnt hurt anything,,,
She will grow outward on the sides

There is a technique call lolli popping...where you trim the under brush & top the upper canopy
Doing so, leaves the middle section of the plant --as a sweet spot

i usually top for the 1st time right around where you're at. Often combined with LST. Heres a couple of my current projects for an idea. Multi headed monsters are what im after.

.

I top after the 3rd node, keeping her short while leaving one set of lower branches to become the meristems if the 3rd node branches mess up.

Unless you want to grow side branches with your top it does not do a lot of good to wait until the 8 or 9th node.
