When do i start using flowering nutrients?

im really confused on when to start using flowering nutrients. im planning to flip in about 3 and a half weeks but it is my first time using flowering nutrients in general. bottle doesn't say anything and i can't seem to get an exact answer when i google it.

do i start using it before i flip? right after i flip? or when the pistils are showing more heavily ( like right after the main stretch, then it goes into producing buds )

i am using soil. I have stopped fertilizing for now due to Nitrogen toxicity/nutrient lock out and recently potting up so i've been trying to just focus on fixing that issue for now.

You can start when you first flip 12/12

You can start when a week into 12/12

You can start half veg nutes and half flower nutes for the first week and work your way to full flower nutes thereafter.

Personally I flip 12/12 and feed veg nutes, then half veg/half flower then full flower nutes.

I give my girls a half dose of Big Bud a week before I flip and the other half at the flip. They get equal amounts of all 3 base base nutes as well to make sure they have enough N and everything else for the big growth spurt during the stretch.

After the stretch I feed Lucas Formula style with more BB until the end of week 5 then pretty much let them coast with just RO water feeding off whatever nutes are left in the pots of ProMix HP. No flushing involved.

i was planning just to feed the flowering nutrients because i intentionally over fed and got nitrogen toxicity + nutrient lock out so im kind of staying away from nutrients and trying to just water. i did just pot up recently as well so its like i added more nutrients via the new soil. it's been a while though but plants still look super dark. doesn't seem to be too bad on the lock out anymore

My flowering feed week 1 day 1 is on the day that I flip into 12/12.
THe feed I use uses the grow(veg) part of a 3 part feed up to and including week 3 of flower.
Week 4 is the first week with only micro and bloom.
I harvest 52 to 60 days from that day.

i will have to check the ratio's for this nutrients as it is a different brand from my veg nutrients since the veg nutrients i use which is fox farm trio they are out of tiger bloom and fox farm products are extremely hard to find in my state. only about 3 stores carry the soil and i think only 1-2 of the 3 carry the nutrient line as well but the one i mainly go is sold out. im pretty sure the Nitrogen isn't 0 though maybe it's like 1-2

My indicas continue to grow the first 2 weeks at 12/12. First buds appear around week 3. I would wait a couple of weeks after they go to 12/12 to start nuting.

Good luck, BigSteve.

thanks yea i just flipped today it's going to storm too which i forgot and i just watered as well but they should be fine. as long as it doesn't consistently rain weekly then i should have time to feed my first grow i didn't it just kept raining non stop right when the plants needed water and i didn't have good lights to bring them inside

You can topdress with solid nutrients, if it doesn't stop raining.
i use liquid nutrients only. all the granular nutrients we have is super strong like miracle grow one i think is 20-20-20 then we have another one like 20-15-10 something like that. all slow releasing nutrients though. i ended up just bringing the plants inside was kind of debating off and on if i should veg em or not but i just decided to flip for good cause if they get 2x the size then at least i have room to play with my lights. at first i was worried they wont even hit the 2x but i mean either way they are bigger then anything i grew thus far so im still proud of um and im sure they will yield more then what i got in my past grow.

i also forgot i fed today as well so they should be okay probably for another 2 week when it needs next feeding.

Tons of growers wait. To use bloom nutrients until It's finished streching while in flowering stage m. An they got great results so I do it too

If you have already struggled with lockout and other problems concerning nutrients I’d recommend against using your flowering nutrients until almost 2 weeks after making the switch. I’d take a guess that your plants are that dark color from excessive nitrogen and once in flower you don’t want to be causing those types of issues.

yea it's really dark well it was but it has lightened up at the top by 1-2 shades compared to the bottom. that is why i didn't know if i should add the veg nutes or skip it plus with the newer soil via the pot up it has some nutrients in it. that is why i mixed it with old used soil that had no nutrients in it. 1 plant looks really beat up as well i got maybe a week to decide since my next watering is just watering plus i don't flush either as well wanted to see if not flushing for the nitrogen will benefit if i didn't add any but think next time i will flush

i ended up feeding a full dosage based on what the bottle said which was 2 tsp/gal. that and added full dosage of big bloom. they seem to be doing good though well 1 is the other idk kind of fucked up the other plant but it should flower okay i hope. when i put them in natural sunlight though they dont look as green as in my closet think it's cause the lights are blurple. but they look like the nitrogen toxicity is slowly going away. gonna try ease up on the nitrogen for now see what happens and with my next grow i'll feed all 3 during flowering and not induce nitrogen toxicity in veg

This is what i do but it is important to taper feed strength down as they ripen.
you mean weaken it as they ripen? i was going to do that to force them to use it all up and then 2 days full black out at the very end. i was planning to give like a half ass'd flush 2nd week to harvest. then 1 week full flush. what you think?

I taper the feed down during the last 3 weeks or so. Fed lightly to the last watering or two.

If fed properly no need to leach pots.

And I dont leave them in the dark. I do harvest at lights on or just before to preserve potency and terpenes.

Only reason i have read to leave them for extended dark period is ot can take 24 hrs for the carbs in the plant to settle back down into the roots. Which theoretically would give smoother smoke sooner.
