When do balls open❓

If they open to the point you see powder on fan leaves. Youre 2-3 weeks too late. Hope you got a charcoal filter on that tent. Otherwise everything for a mile will try to throw seeds

Yea I’ve found males to mature extremely quickly, then go into senescence. Outdoors, they’re dead by the end of summer while the females are fine until the frost.
Well I was homeless by the age of 15 and am a male so I guess I had to mature quickly but fought it ever step of the way. I never did go into senescence but I am only 49. Time will tell what the future holds :)

Some look to be already open. You may be to late my man.
Best time to collect pollen is whey they are opening/mature.
Unless I misunderstood what you are trying to say.
Pollen can stay viable for weeks maybe even longer especially if it’s in a dry environment ie low humidity or fridge. I find it best to collect pollen when the balls are fully open and dropping pollen. Now if you have plants nearby it could be a disaster if they are not the ones you intend to breed.

I've read that you can cut a branch or 2 and stick them in a cup of water and they'll continue flowering. That way you don't have to keep the plant around and can confine the pollen to one area of your space.

Never done it myself, so you might wanna google about it.
It works. A couple members here mentioned that to me, so I did. Had some abandoned that stayed green and opened up more for almost a week.
It’s like blooming flowers in a vase.
Edit: though I can’t say for certain the pollen is fertile. Gotta wait and see on the flowers I dusted...

It’s only been 11 days since flip I can’t believe how fast these balls grow‼ My question is about how long before they open up and there is viable Pollin❓
I have allowed males to mature for the pollen and it takes about 2 weeks from the time you determine it's a male to the time it starts to drop pollen.

I had a male drop pollen 3 weeks after SPROUTING from seed. Looked like a Charlie Brown Christmas tree. Still have the poor guy months later, his dead-head in a glass next to him... I know, effed up. Dusted an auto on a couple sites I’m not too concerned about. We’ll see if it takes.

That’s pretty badass. How cold did it get at the lowest point? Cannabis is a tough plant but I’d expect your male to die pretty quickly once he’s done throwing off pollen.

Ive gotta snap back at this: You talk about my Jenky co2 method, and your advising a man to "cut branches and stick them in water...Might wanna google it" Then, bc YOU dont understand what they are using it for makes this thread pointless? dude, johnny 2 toes. GTFO you pos..
