What's your EC or PPMs?

When I was running flood and drain with GH flora 3 part I ran my PPM at 1000 and it was great. When i used it in DWC (much larger trees) I was running it as high as 1400 PPM and it was great. The larger the plant the stronger it needs to be fed IME.

You can't use the bottle recipe tho, I think thats for tomatoes or something lol.
Oh I hear ya. I'm flowing out a reveg that was chopped 7 months ago. She's got the roots to take stronger feeding, but I've only been hitting her at 600ppm with urb, which allows me to use 25% less nutrients. I know I could bump up the ppms considerably, but I'm enjoying how happy she looks. And not a burnt tip on her .

that's my holy grail here at almost 9000ft. i've yet to not have slight tip burn at some point during an entire grow. it keeps me on my toes though each grow to try to feed them perfectly.
It doesn't happen often with me either. Most runs in just trying keep the burn on the tips small .

I look at it as inevitable , it is going to happen.
Even running as low as I run, it happens.

One thing I plan of changing next grow is in flower, day 21 pruning, I have not been lowering my nute rates and also keeping the same irrigation schedule. I believe that I get a minor lockout due to the plants not needing that much nute input after the defo. I think there is a buildup of nutes in the root zone.
I normally do not check my runoff but when seeing more tip burn than usual I checked it this grow, it was 760 ppm, 260 ppm more than I was feeding at the time.
Next grow I plan on backing off A&B at day 21 for at least a week, giving the plants time to get some growth back.

hey GR, have you run your nutes thru a calculator? i'm curious as to what your ppms are for NPKCaMg.

I'll bump it to 1400's during heavy fruiting phase running f&d iws with co2 supplementation and you'll still see the ec drop

I think that the brand of nutrients s fairly unimportant when compared to experience in growing. Give an experienced grower any brand, and I bet that grower would yield in the general range of any of his/her other grows.

I can't stress enough the increase in yield you will get by defoliating 1 week before flip, 1 week after, and once more at the middle or so of week 3. The plant doesn't produce flower by having huge fan leaves. Those are for biomass. The small ones in and around the bud sites are what feed the nugs. So Get That LIGHT ON EM!!!

Thats my problem i guess... im using the thr flora 3 part + kool bloom. But i cut it by 25%... and still too strong...

I ran 650 max in flower using my rdwc and GH trio, silica and calmag. Any higher threw tips.
There is nothing wrong with using GH Trio, only opinions and preference.

I don't even think snipping here and there all the way to the end is a big deal. Worked out well for me. You hit the nail on the head with the major trimming intervals though.

Im doing flood and drain. Started veg around 500 and finished veg about 800. Then flower i went 800 up to about 1100...

I see now much too high... stunted the growth a bit... not too bad though. But also ran into potassium deficiency... i figured out that the plants were drinking lots but not taking the nutes...
600-800 something ppm (1.2-1.6EC)

You can add some protekt (potassium silicate) into the feed to bump up the potassium. I mix in about .5ml/gallon of that and then the rest.
