Hello could someone help me out? i’m not too sure what’s wrong with my marijuana plant but it looks as if the leaves are a little burnt and starting to shrink up. i’ve been using just regular spring drinking water but recently (today) switched to distilled. the soil is miracle grow potting mix. i use a 75 watt led lamp and i have a little fan in there that keeps the temperature around 75-80. it is just a little closet grow, i literally taped tin foil to the wall lol. please help thank you.

Just from looking at the diagram it looks like potassium deficiency with some calmag deficiency as well. What was the brand of the spring water? Some spring water pH can be as high as 8.3. That would lock out some nutes for sure. I use MG Performance Organic with good results but the potting mix is not going well and had gnats. Also, how far are your lights and what is the material of that sign posted into the soil? Is that rusty metal?

the spring water is publix spring drinking water but i just changed to distilled water as i’ve heard it works well. i went to home depot to get a ph balance tester but sadly they did not have one. i was afraid that the soil i was using may be giving it too much nutrients. the light was originally about a foot or less above the plant but i thought that it may be burnt the leaves or something as they looked really dried out so i put the light probably a little less than a foot higher than it was before.

and yes that is a rusty metal sign haha, it’s a little rusted at the top but not the posts, my girlfriend thought it made it look cuter...

To me it looks nute burnt that soil is probably too hot for it right now. Seedlings need very little nutrients at this stage. I save soil from old runs and use it for my seedlings as the nutes are mostly depleted. It should grow out of it.

If you can, dim the light or move it up so it is transpiring less until it recovers.

Miracle Grow has extra nutrients and minerals in it..........next time use a soil that has lots of perlite in it. Fox Farms Happy Frog for seedlings + veg.
No need to buy extra perlite OR ADD ANY NUTES for 3 weeks. Then use 1/2 the dosage recommended on the bottle or package.

For up potting into a larger container and flowering use Fox Farms Ocean Harvest. You might want to add extra worm castings AND perlite for this stage.

we all learn every grow.

1. Up pot it into a “ full “ amount of medium.
2. Dump miracle grow ... it has CRF ( controlled release fertilizer) meaning it “ feeds “ every time you water.
Seedlings need very little in beginning. A better starter mix ( lighter ammended ) like Happy Frog , Dr. earth , Black Magic , etc.
3. Water lightly .... never fully saturate such a small , half filled container ... roots can suffocate, have slower growth , etc.
4. Burns are from MG soil ... it’s a bit hard on such a young plant.
5. Forget distilled water ... that water is stripped off cal mag , and only shows that in plant.
6. Get a ph / TDS pen or ... at least PH strips and drops ( hydro / garden nurseries) to check what ph ( is going in ) instead of
guessing. RO water is fine ( lower starting ppm ) and just adjust ph to water or feed.

Leaves will not repair .... noticed new growth ( which is good ) but look at better soil mixes. Most good “ Veg / Garden “ type soils.
