It dosent

It's a salt pocket with high input of nutes

Why you don't check run off,means nothing

I always thought it’s because plants take up water about 4 times as fast as they take up nutrients, as they absorb the water faster than the nutrients the ratio of water to nutrients decreases thus increasing EC.

University’s have been using the pour thru method to check ec and ph for years. As long as follow a protocol you can get very useful info from pour thru. Cornell and NC State have established solid protocols.
