I think I need a comfort meal today so, meatloaf from ground sirloin, mashed Yukon's w/garlic, parm, cream cheese and sautéed broccoli, brown sugar, parm again, olive oil. Dutch apple pie w/Honeycrisps, couple of Elijah Craig 12 yr sours, tiny maint. bump, big fat hash joint, season 2 of "Justified". Taxes done. Life is good!

tonight: baby gem lettuce, walnut and Gorgonzola salad. tempted to throw some apple slices in but we'll see. the gf aint too down with stinky cheese. i think it's crucial to the salad personally to have the cheese and walnuts but no doubt she'll leave a pile of cheesy crumbs on the plate lol

Cajun pulled pork and bean soup. Onions, celery, green peppers, bacon, sauteed with cajun seasonings. Add pork shoulder stock with fat removed and bbq pulled pork. Finnish with fresh diced tomatos, refried beans, and hot sauce. Whatever :):):)

pulled pork  juvenile i know.... that shit is delicious though especially the BBQ variety. it's rare in the uk.

i spent ages cracking and de shelling a bag of walnuts ( without a nut cracker, the supermarket were out at xmas and don't restock til next xmas!?!? wtf anyway) made the gorgonzola sauce, white whine vinegar and good olive oil mixed it up crumbled more nuts and cheese on top. my gf tried one mouthful n pronounced it horrid. gutted.

Of course lol, she doesnt like stinky cheese, especially good stinky cheese. Looks pretty damn tasty to me though. ;) i grilled for my new gf tonight. It was the first time i cooked for her and wouldnt you know it, i burnt the balsamic marinate that i had on the chicken because i was more worried about the rice boiling over than watching the meat. (shaking head and rolling eyes) What a dumbass move that was. I just grabbed the chicken off the grill and sliced the first 1/8th inch off the breasts with my razor sharp damascus steel gyuto and voila! Fixed ;) it turned out pretty good. The meal was balsamic and olive oil marinated chicken, grilled asperagus, grilled crimini mushrooms, and jasmine rice. I really like this new GF. Remember when you fell in love when you were 16? Thats how it feels lol. Thats why ive been forgetting to take pics these days. :):):)

Balsamic glaze is great on everything eh. I made satay skewers, plenty lime juice and chilli. Lol olive oil n soy, fine chopped garlic and half jar of peanutty butty

Tonight's meal, I made this morning ;) chilli con carne bubbling away in the slow cooker.
