i know hes a friend but sometimes you gotta go with what pays the bills, but if u can tuff it out for a week and he comes through then that great, but if moneys real tight and u can get on another boat go that route-but u might not find fish on that either. if nothing works out then unemployment it is (i hear its an easy weekly form u gotta fill out online)\
good luck man, hope u find the fish

you gotta do what you gotta do man. I'm sure your boss will understand. just keep in touch with him because you never know, it might be an easy way out of your NEXT miserable job :p

Not saying any of your jobs are miserable, I'm just saying, IF your job turns out to be miserable and your old boss somehow came back up, youd have an easy job :D

you said it is your friend work with him until you guys make money when you do, make sure he pays you.
He is probably counting on you to keep his company going, and you might need the job more than you realize so make it work for both of you, bust your ass and he should take care of you.

Are you fishing White fish? If so, it looks like they are in the decline again which sucks.
I work with commercial fisherman daily here & there are no shortages of jobs available, but then again our Salmon are slamming right now.
Good luck.

i bust my ass every day, i work with two brothers that are both 50+ yrs old and a 160 lbs soaking wet. im 35 and do most of the work. and ya i am the one holding his business together. his brother is a big pain in my ass out there and things would work better if he was gone, but that probably wont happen. i will probably try and stick it out but i cant live to long without some cash

Go find another job and the pain in the ass brother might have some karma comming.
Stick it out only if he'll give you a rack and meals with a promise on paper for full payment
heck you could work out a share of the boat..
