Hiya guys, I just transplanted in DWC, its been 2 weeks old both with 350 ppm, and ph of 5.8
My Temp is 82F
RH is 40%
Using 5 gallon DWC bucket

These don't look that healthy to me..what do you guys think the problem is?

nope, not healthy. is your res cooled?

if not, and it is also in 82, then your probably have bad root oxygenation, which gives overwatering symptoms, and may lead to bud rot. how do the roots look?

Double the nutrient strength, at least.
Calibrate your pH meter.
Cool your nutrient solution.
And, if your getting any water or nutrient on them, when the lights are on, stop.

Would any one agree with Echlectica on doubling the nutrients?

Correct me if my ideas are wrong, I was thinking of slowly increasing ppm by 200 each week, so then by 4th week of vegetation it would reach around 1000ppm,
if I double it now that would exceed 500ppm...If experts agree with ech then I will take this route.

By the way I am using Sensi Grow Part A Part B, with Cal Mag.

Thx for the support.

looks like the ph might be funky + mg/fe diff. maybe aeration problem? be careful with the hydroton be sure to process & ph it before using

nope, for this size of plants 350 is more than enough. once you've cooled your res, you should also flush (and then feed again), just to be on the safe side.

More questions:

Its been a day since I transplanted, This morning I have checked the pH and it has gone up to 6.01, and ppm rose to 370ppm.
They are both high because of low water that means it only drank water..hmmm. anyways I topped it with more water.

My temp is now 80, and the humidity is on 50. My reservoir is around 75F, which I think its not that bad.

What does it mean if the plant only drank water?

What else can be the problem guys?

no improvement?
flush. then try using a different nutrient maybe.
75 is the upper limit - you wanna get that res a bit lower. and also, add some h2o2.

I would think that would be working. Only done a dwc grows myself, so im curious what you figure it out. Its gotta be in the roots though. Be sure to try some h2o2.

Well do what you want but. personally I start my seedlings at 650ppm. I grow from seed almost every time. Yes I have a lot of good seeds. In fact right now I have 7 SensiStars,10 urkles, 3 pot o golds and 2 durban poisons all from seed all about a week old all in the same RDWC system at 650ppm.
I personally think 90% of the problems that people have in hydro are because they are scared to use nutrients and don't know how to calibrate their test meters. I've been growing for 25 years and I've seens a lot of sick plants, your plants look under fed. Don't expect them to show visible signs of new growth that fast. They have to come back from the whole you've put them in. Just my opinion.

Ech, thanks for your quick reply.

Should I flush them and start a whole new regime, or should I save the water and just add in the nutrients to match extra ppm?

Its officially starting its 3rd week into growing, its gotta be nutrient defeciency.

thx again.

There is really no need to, "flush". That seems to be every newbies generic answer to every problem when in fact it can actually make things worse. If they are under nourished then flushing will just wash away more nitrogen and magnsium and calcium.
What you should do is change the solution and double the strength. Make sure your meters are reading correct and I mean on the money, it is important. Adjust your ph. and cool your res if you can.

wouldn't listen to this guy ^^

of course flushing washes away the nutrients when they are unbalanced or over-abundant, that's why you start feeding right after that. Flushing IS the answer to almost every root-derived problem there is. In this case it may not be necessary, since the damage is most likely from suffocated roots, but i'd still do it just in case. It certainly does not make things worse. Also, you should use a root accelartor and better yet some rhizotonic or other seaweed agent to relieve stress.

the roots are obviously in bad shape after being in under-oxygenated water, why do you think they need more food?? stressed plants need and can handle LESS food.

More oxygen, thats what i thought too. Bigger pump or another pump or something to get them more o2
