What is this crazy problem ???

I am pretty sure I do have some sort of weird virus. I have a clone that I got from a friend and I stuck it in my quarantine area to see if it showed any streaking and guess what ?? It has light yellow streaking . Wow I have a good one this time . I had problems with my whole coco grow almost a year and a half all the time switching genetics trying to find a "good one" when other people don't have 1/2 the equipment I have and are growing dank in a box and all my coco plants would stop producing resin around week 4 completely and several of my strains would never finish . I'm clean I don't know how or where I got it from but I am pretty sure I do. So most people on the fence can look at my pics to know what it is and how it looks. I used the same scissors to take my clones off of the mother plants which I think spread it more. I'm fucked !! I quit growing for like 4 months before starting again and these plants picked it up from the room . My growing days may be over.

I have only got one clone and it was from the Cannabis cup? I noticed it had some crinkle to the leaves but was told that is a genetic marker to gg#4 and it would be fine . Maybe that plant had it and the owner wasn't aware ? I mean I quarantine for 3 weeks and spray for pests and molds but how do you fight something that has no cure ? I did not know what to look for and now I do.

I have 1 plant that looks identical to yours, it has been like it for its entire life.
The others with it remain unaffected so it didn't spread.
I cloned it with all the others (24 clones in all) and it's clones are doing the same thing, but not the others.
The only answer I could ever find was a post saying it was a genetic anomaly.
There is nothing I haven't tried, but it has gone worse since flowering, so I wont be using the clones.
RM3 is correct I would say, everyone else is just guessing.

I have this on all my leaves have for awile now. So do all my clones from this mother. I think viruses can happen often people are just to sheepish on here and go with what they heard. I could be wrong though.
But tmv in cannabis shows mosiac spotting just like i have on my leaves and clones.0805161742.jpg

This is not a form a TMV!
First off the plant would not look as good as your does. It severely reduces yield (if it yields), and yours looks more like a damaged DNA mutation - even over a vertigated plant.

Does it yield? If yes, so what then! If not as well as you would like. Let it die out and replace it with new seeds from a different breeder if possible.

After looking at this again,,,I've seen something LIKE this in a plant that had problems with micronute uptake! No matter what we did, it had some sort of problem with micro's - so did it's clones - I might try and raise the Ir and the S a bit to see if that has an effect - look for that in new growth only around 7+ days.
Still, if it yields like others with out the look and they're the same strain - grow it!
It appears like it has a low chlorophyll genetic problem.

It would not spread to other genetics if it were a variegated strain trait .
I see a rather growing BROAD MITE infestation!
In an earlier pic I did not see some of the classic signs of Broad Mites.
BUT, in this pic

It looks like some classic advanced Broad Mite damage.

Broad mites burrow in the leaf stems and/or soft stem tissue from at or near new growth.
They go deep enough that you can't see them. When you see that vertigated look to leaves. That does not automatically mean Bmites! IF the leaf begins to curl in the direction of the vertigated look - Bmites = dead give away!

Broad mites are NO fun! If you are a strict organic grower - sorry but you might as well BURN them and start over. Before you reload your room. You will HAVE TO sanitize the SHIT out of it!
Mix up a strong side sanitizing solution of bleach and water. Get yourself a several gallon garden sprayer and SPRAY DOWN EVERY SURFACE IN THE GROW!!! I MEAN EVERY SURFACE! Floor, ceiling, walls, tables, nutrient bottles, and don't forget UNDER EVERYTHING too! EVERYTHING EVERYWHERE!

Now restart!

Willing to get out the big guns and attempt to kill these suckers off?
Start with FORBID 4F. You only need a LIGHT misting of the top of the leaves and other plant surfaces. FORBID is not systemic. it's translaminar. That means it take a few days to travel trough the leaf and set at the bottom inside surface of the leaf - rite where mites feed! (Best shit out there for regular mites - period!). Now be patient. (Jeopardy song playing) It takes a week or so to work.

NOW then, with broad mites all you can do to tell is if they stop getting worse and stop jumping plants.

BROAD MITES are a bitch to kill off. The FORBID should work - it will work best on plants that are newly inffected.

Stonironi, YOU might have to go to the NUKE stage - Merit 74 - This is a bug NUKE in our world! The biggest gun we have! IT is systemic! It is a neonicotinoid insecticide. It has BAD effects on Bee's and new forms of any neoniconoid have been banned for that reason.
THIS shit will kill the worst pest of all - ROOT APHIDS, right along with mites and just about you name it.

Choose to use? Use as directed for spraying the plant......Your choice! I can not quote the half life of this stuff or the effective period either. I choose not to use and look to other means for Aphids and mites...

The last suggestion is the same for the organic (I'm one) guys - burn them and start over AFTER you sanitize your grow!
NOTE: I have used FORBID as it's derived from an organic - naturally occurring acid. It losses it's organic cert by what they bind it with for use.....Not worried about that....Binder actually biodegrades in less then a week.

GOOD LUCK sir!

Either way - I would sanitize my grow after this run - don't forget the veg area either!

@Stonironi

I should mention also. Once in a while I see some vertigated leaves that curl. If it does NOT spread - I do nothing about it!
IF they spread - Out comes the FORBID and I have never lost a plant to Broad mites this way....(Knocking wood)

Good Luck and let me know how it went....

Thanks for the help . My forbid arrives today so I will spray them all today . My flowers are almost 3 weeks on so they won't be getting sprayed any but I will definitely be cleaning my grow for sure . I just bought some physan 20 for that reason .

@Dr. Who do I remember correctly that TMV is rare in cannabis?
By what a Prof has observed at MSU.....Not only that but, that modern seed breeding (for our plant of choice) seems to have breed in an "immunity". He say's that it was last seen in any great way, during WWII in some southern Hemp fields. He says sense then - Almost nothing in cannabis.......

His words ARE exactly that, RARE! He has yet to see a real pos in anything we have sent him. Most of us have quit sending him samples - We treat for Bmites as needed.....Last Bmite attack for me was after I helped ran someone else grow for them while they went to Paris. (If you saw her - you wouldn't say no either - lol!! Thankfully it's the only "infestation" I got from her) About 2.5 years ago.
Haven't had reg. mites for mmm, going on 7 years, maybe 8?

Anyone have any ideas
Tmv can only be diagnosed with a test kit pretty cheap to think like 20$. Reason I say that I've dealt with it a lot and it can mimic and deficiency or burn or anything but it's trade mark is multiple color uneven crooked leaves. Get you a test a test it. If not a simple solution to find out if it is a virus is to buy a cheap product called axium or axiom can't remember. It's a protein that pretty much boosts plant immune system. If it's tmv it won't disappear but will be held at bay with it. Tmv is nuts lol I have it in two plants knowingly clone only cuts.....sucks

And @Dr. Who it's not that rare here in Colorado. I can guarantee it was tmv I cloned 528 clones every 9 days. Purple and yellow colors had plants legit not ever form some with no trichomes at all. Axium is only thing that can handle it. No cure but can put it at bay

Where would I find this product Axium ? I have googled it to find nothing . Thanks

Rx green solutions. I found it. There is a lot of info saying it will fry your plants and cause serious hermie problems . I wonder if it's just asprin ? I read that works too .

Interesting to be sure! If you have any pics of it - I would love to see them!
Here, we have not seen it. I'll bet the prof would love to see it too.

The leaves of the "effected plant" . You say uneven and crooked - NOT a single leaf with one side multi colored and simply "curved" one way? Many of us here have had that with NO ill effects! Stoni has that but not curved, in early pics in another thread - not even curved, just the vertigated. The new pic I posted of his looks more like B-mites.....YET....Do the plants infected express the virus both ways?

If it is a MV. it should spread to the whole plant and stunt and shrivel it.Maybe not in cannabis.....Could be a form of I suppose. You know, that's not the first time I've heard that CO has a problem with it.

Touching and insect transmission are the leading vectors in Beans.....I have seen it out west IN bean crops.....Down south too.

What did you think of the pictures that Stoni posted? You have my attention......

Anyway @Stonironi , do not touch the plants effected and touch others! While I still have my doubts on any MV. Best not to take chances yet! Separate plants so they DO NOT touch or rub each other in the breeze from fans! WASH hands well after each trip in the grow and try not to touch one and then another plant.

Still, if it does not spread symptoms to other parts of the plant it's not likely any MV!

YEAH, I don't think that's any MV...Not that I've seen in other plants! Just not effecting the plant the same.
If we go by something @Afgan King has posted - it's not falling into that either as it IS forming natural trichs in every pic I blew up to view close.

Gunna give the prof a call later again when he gets home......Got some new questions for him now!
