if you have cut and trimmed and have the buds drying dont have a fan blowing directly on them as it will dry too fast i like to keep drying like this 7 days at 70 o then into plastic air tight buckets for 7 days min before even thinking about smoking the smell really changes over the 7 days cure in buckets and if i dont cure i can really tell the taste is dissapointing but when i do this way i have no complaints however if buds aint so dense then i dont need to dry for 7 days and 5 days normally enough but i like to put in buckets just before the stem dry snaps
I like the 20-21 degrees celsius that pretty much what i set my temps too in dry but i kept my R/H at 50-55% not exceed 60%.
i recommend using one of these if you can for your jars. Helped me out for sure.
you seem like you did well to me and i aint being nasty with you its so easy to mess things up at the last minute and i just thought to give my advice i normally have a fan rotating under neath where my buds dry and i have the fan come on for 15 minutes every hour i use a 0.8x0.8 tent and use a 4inch extractor in the top extracting .
you thinking your crop will be effected by botrytis ?
i feel u bro, but look at it this way.... u save a little bit on electricity yea? and it doesn't harm or depreciate your yield at all. Thats really why i was like fuck it ill do it.
if you are really worried then just dry a little faster than the advice but if you can keep temps around 70 and you got a fan blowing air around and you got extractor running i cant see you having probs but in lower temps or without the fans then i would worry also i keep buds in complete dark when drying but i do keep an eye on the temps i really try to dry as slow as possible but without pushing it too much the worst thing that can happen is you spend all these weeks caring for her and giving what she needs and come harvest your buds look so good and your so pleased with your plants and then pannick and dry too fast and your buds taste and potency is then compromised i can always tell if bud has been rush dried and not cured at all but really cant say enough about how the sealed buckets works with the cure and its ok to put into cure too earlie / too wet rather than too late if you over dry you cant fix it but if you under dry its easily fixed with the cure by opening and releasing moisture
My main reason was temps, it's really heating up here and I haven't had time to adjust my setup here for the summer temps
I wondered the same thing, just popped in with my phone light to check, prolly just wouldnt hit em with full lights
i feel ya pain in summer everyones gotta do so much extra cooling its hard to keep temps in check but i would rather reduce my lights and keep temps in check than have loads of light and temps too hot imo
