For a 4x4 tent what would be the best build 4 4foot led strip or 8 2 foot strip or more ?
Wattage and power will be the same . 4 of the 4` double rows and 8 of the 2` double rows will do the same thing.

Just more wiring using the 2`s....not sure what else would be different.

I'll just go with the 4x strip instead of the 8x strip since the performance are the same.

1120mm ones grows bigger autos for sure. (joke)
But indeed, you can get them closer to tops.

I would highly recommend using the 2' strips and building 2 separate 2X4' fixtures. You'll have a lot less bulky a light to manage and hang and it will give you some leeway to raise one if needed from an unanticipated and surprise stretch.

But that's just my opinion.

Also, check out the cutter strips if you haven't already. Best value I can find. Such higher lumens than any other 2' strip.

If he's in a hurry cutter may not be the best option.

Otherwise ya, they have some nice strips of all different quality and price.

The difference would be in formfactor: 4x 4' strips can only go in one way.
8x 2' can go in many ways and can be driven in 2 groups so you have one driver for the centre 4 and another for the rest on the outside. But thats if you wanna build some thing more complicated.

I suggest adding 50% more strips or having a build that allows for adding on later.

I'me flowering a 4x4 scrog pretty OK with a 4 strip 4-foot on a fucked up 320W driver that is current limiting for some reason.
changing that up to a 480W Driver will get you about 20% higher output for minimal extra expense, and a bit lower efficiency. For one tent it is adequately low.

This is not the best system, just the minimal system that is economically functional.

A step up in efficiency and reduced capital cost is 6 strips on 2x320W drivers. (still the most Watt per Dollar driver)

How many strip you think I will need to get for a 4x4 tent.
