What are you all doing in the lockdown to keep the blood pumping?

I was working at the office until about 2 weeks ago, I am a lab rat and need to be there to build stuff. I've switched to a work from home routine and had to shift gears to do other things for my team. The combination of being stuck at home and doing things for work that aren't normally in my wheelhouse is taking a toll mentally. I firmly believe that mental health follows physical health, and that when one is not well, boosting the other can offset it.

Since switching to work from home, I set up alarms through the day to prompt various exercises - pushups, pullups, situps, and walking my dog. This (and starting to grow again) has done a decent job of breaking up the monotony, as well as starting to make me feel healthier. I call this setup my prison routine....

What are you all doing to keep yourselves sane and healthy right now under the current circumstances? What changes have you made?

I've read The Lord of the Rings, again. I've also read all of the Harry Potter books, again. I've read a few other books and novels as well, but nothing as involved as those ones.

I've also found the time to finish off a couple of grow automation inventions that have been in the works for a couple of years, and am now working on the business paperwork for everything in hopes to be to market in a few months or less.

My boats are in the water (I live on a lake), and I've been fishing a decent amount, along with several hikes (I live in a mountainous region in BC).

Busy busy!

What a nerd, lol. Just kidding man.

I'm just jealous I don't live on a lake. I'd be fishing everyday man. I feel real sorry for you, lol.

I will never not live on a lake again. All of my water comes from there for everything. Because I'm on the water plane, by basement stays 52F all year around, perfect for growing in.

A lot of the time I take a book in a boat with me, get out there in a good spot on the lake, and just troll around while I'm reading, and grab my rod when a fish bites :)

My grow automation is always in a state of tuning, and I'm a "DIY or die trying" kind of guy... Even then, I'd love to see some more good market stuff too!

Well... I decided the back yard was big enough for a dirt bike course. Actually it is big enough for a really nice one. Had some logs sitting and left over outdoor plywood. Shit I can make some perfect jumps. Had it all set up. I was having a blast for a few days.

Then I fell. With one end of the handlebars spiked into the ground and the other speared into my gut.

From my perspective the entire universe was focused onto the head of a spear and thrust. Deeeeeep. All the way home. All my kinetic weight came down on that one spot. Nothing else broke the fall from what I remember.

I kind of remember making a sound like maybe a squealing piglet being pulled out of deep mud.

100% made some natural DMT. For a fraction of a second I was gone. Never passed out though. Lessons were definitely learned.

Soooo I’ve had my feet up for what now 10 days. I can’t work out or do anything super fun because I’m still not sure if I have a hernia from this. Swelling was so bad and is still reducing. Bruising took a good 5 days to even show.

Wife was a little pissed when I built a new jump as part of my rehab. All good secretly she loves it haha.

So here I am. Trying to add to the forums instead of just reading like usual. Been trying to learn how to grow the good herb (in a legal state) but I definitely still have a lot to learn for true greatness. I can at least add some stuff here.

Sounds like it was fun up until that fall! I hope it heals up well!

Thanks! Actually it’s nice a nice bluebird day here today. I was going crazy and the swelling is way down. I got back on the track today and just promised I’d keep at least one tire on the ground haha. Glad I did too feeling so much better!

I like how you said that mental health follows physical because that’s exactly what I needed today! I literally don’t function right without something to exhaust me lol

I’m guessing you know already but the audio books for both LotR series and Harry Potter are so good. I love reading them too but got hooked on audiobooks when I’m doing other stuff. Those are exceptional reads

I'm blessed to live by the beach - walking & surfing for physical fitness.

For mental stimulation and relaxation - I started growing weed! :bigjoint:

Being in self-quarantine, day and night seem**s the same. However, a proper sleep cycle and a fixed routine are a must to ensure a prolonged life. Proper sleep ensures repairing of cells, clearing toxins, and digesting what we eat throughout the day.
Most importantly, having a balanced dietary intake and indulging in physical activities such as exercising, yoga, and breathing exercise is the most important towards a healthy life.
Therefore, even though these times are mentally difficult for all of us, we should use this time to nourish our body and ensure its upkeep.

I live by the beach too, so I walk around the beach or jog/run on some trails close by. But I'm doing the Simple & Sinister kettlebell plan from Pavel, 5x a week, it's helping me a lot! My shoulders and upper chest are bulletproof now, when I do come back to the gym I think my other pressing exercises will benefit from this.

Did 930 push ups, 240 situps and then went and got my first covid shot yesterday. Will get back to the gym after number 2. Left arm a tiny bit sore today. Set up a new 4x4 tent and got the 4x8 box stocked with blueberry diesel genetics. Funtimes!

Lost a few KG just eating more whole foods and doing pilates stretches on the ground. Starting to get very toned and defined around the hips, ass, gooch, hamstrings, quads. Love it, no more fat rash in the warmer months, I've got a gap in my thighs now haha
