I'm in my sixth week... been under 400W HPS 12/12 for 10 days. All the males are gone; here's a little sumpin' from the four that are left (3 are definite fems, one hasn't popped convincingly yet..). Just started some mild LST to maximize my grow space (not shown).
These are bagseed.. had two bubblelicious mixed in, but they went male. Don't care.. this stuff was nice dope, and I bet I can make it better with good harvest timing.
These gals came up in pre-nuted MG potting soil. Started using FF Grow Big once a week at 4 weeks (so, just 2 feedings so far). Going to Tiger Bloom now that flowers are showing.
Ghetto setup, I know, 'cept for the light. Building reflective panels right now painted flat white.
So far so good... me and my plants are treating each other right..

the only problem with any chemical nute is this....toxic salt build up kills roots....however if applied at proper strength and intervals pot usually isn't grown long enough for this to happen...it does happen at the large commercial nurserys where you propagate your own stock of shrubs and trees..after 2 years their ready for a flush....MG is good how ever there are some out there with stablized sodium levels that are gentler on the root system but more$$ exponentialy...mg is great in a soiless mix the fret I mean their dirt is more like fine shred mulch very brown...hyponics 20lb bag 2.99 add perlite and some promix and MG the crap out of it....run more soil in your mix and MG seems not so good and lower strength organics work best just my thoughts yes I grow trees and shrubs and flowers too for that matter much of which are far pickier than my pot 
anyway the dirt seems more like mulch than dirt MG.....I don't like the texture but thats just me works great for a lot of folks

it does all of these things....
are we still speaking of starch or the K in NPK...ha...i just realized we were speaking of 2 different things at the same time, so i'm not sure which one you're referring too

are you a landscaper... becuz i like to speak to people who know about the different techniques of growing plants... not sure if this falls underlandscaping though, ha
damn spittin... nice pics... makes me want to just dive in, ha... looks so soft and cushy...ha
also taking a peek at those products you use... are the white stuff in the bag perlite... and also since you have a bottle dedicated to each letter in NPK... do you make a mixture with all of them or do you give your plants a shot of each at different times depending on what they want....

Just FYI, y'all -- I ran a battery of NPK tests on my MG soil at 4 weeks. There was (probably still is..) a LOT of K in the soil at that point. Lots of P, too, and very little N.
Now, these were the cheap little "tablet test" analyses, so a grain of salt is required. But, food for thought..

lol naa its actually a bloom formula that i lost the container for, but the npk is something like 2-52-30 or somthing like that
the perlite is all the lil extra white pebbles in my soil mixture in the 1st pic, i kinda go overboard when it comes to perlite and peat moss
and yes, I give the plants shots of different nutes depending on what they are asking for. usually when breeding my plants use up a LOT of P & K so I replace it with one of the three part organic nutes that i have. the nutes i use claim that they automatically adjust the pH for me and they can be used in both hydro and soil if i ever change setups again.
I get to play god to my plants and i love it

but it seems to be true, since the plants don't show signs of P or K deficiencies...just N.....and boy is it ugly....ha....i was like "NOOOOOOO....MY BABIES ARE SICK"....of course....my fault...i knew that was the situation because i didn't give any plant food and it was already over a month...but i have a complex of NOT wanting to overdo things, so sometimes i end up under doing..ha

I use MG on all of my grows as a base.I dont have any problems.I just cant see using a food that has 1 digit n,p,k's.No flouronova for me.I do use hornsbys during flower.and of course superthrive!!!!!

the bloom mix does sound special though...some high numbers
so you give the bloom mix and different shots of NPK....damn..you have a good eye for this then, i'm nowhere near that.. i still have a lot to learn
i just bought a bag made by Scotts called Hyponex....its potting soil (but when i looked it up, many people call it peat moss) and it has no NPK....so i was thinking "ohhhhhh, this is for the people who are good at knowing when to give NPK"...like you.... but i'm going to mix it with the tropical plant mix and MG (i don't know why, just for the hell of it) and put 50% perlite... for some reason i feel like this would be a good mixture...but i am wrong a lot of times, so hey........
and you have nutes that adjusts Ph....was it expensive....
i bought some earthworms...i want to make my own fert, plus i never had worms as pets...ha
