Hey everyone watching, thank you for your patience. The test is officially resumed!

One light will be showcased at a time, and first up will be the Blackstar Chrome 720w

We will begin at day 18 underneath the Blackstar Chrome 720w LED to cut out some of the boring stretch.

I shot this video using color correction and white balance on my new camera, so even though the plants are under LED lighting, they appear in their natural colors. Please let me know if you prefer to see the ladies like this, or under normal LED light... or both.

*To all you RIU producers out there who want to show their ladies off with their natural colors, check out your camera's white balance setting because it works in HPS lighting as well.
Natural lighting is the preferred method, please!! MAJOR props on those ladies man! They look lovely.
HOLY CRAP,
is that your exhaust fan that's that loud?! What are temps?

Thank you! I'll definitely rotate posting videos shot in natural lighting and the LED look. I run a 6" inline fan dedicated for each tent to keep all conditions even and equal for testing purposes. Here is a video of shooting temperatures at the HPS tents (the temps are similar in the LED tent).

Anyone out there that has used LED's extensively or anyone out there that actually builds LED's please give me your thoughts on the Apollo 4 made by cidly. I'm looking for an LED lighting system that I can hang over a 4' x 4' ScroG, and will be high enough wattage to do that job. Thanks in advance for any and all info you may be able to provide.

WeJuana here in this thread, for example, is using 16-spot lights (blackstar chrome 720, penetrator 336x) in a 4x4... (= 2x Apollo 8 )

You know I've found the footprint and penetration of led to be a lot more than I expected. I veg with led's and the new seedlings are a full 24" from the light. They exhibit no stretch and grow quite bushy. The footprint is larger than I expected because I have plants on the outskirts still doing just fine

vegging is one thing, and flowering is completely another (of course you know that)

anyhoo, I just don't want anyone thinking that they can flower a 4x4 area with an Apollo 4; that is just going to lead to frustration and disappointment. The bright side is that you can get a couple Apollo 8 (or even get a 16-spot X2 'penetrator' directly from Bysen) customized to your spectrum for $490 - $525, or go with an Area 51 16-spot (AF1-240) right now while they are on sale for $855... These would be appropriate selections for 4x4 flowering

2 apollo 8's would cover a 4x4 for flower and 1 apollo 8 will cover a 2 x 4. An apollo 4 will cover a 2 x 2. For veg you get an extra 6 in to 12 in in each direction. . Like me if you get a couple 8"s you might want a couple 10's after that then 12's.

Apollos from Cidly, diodes are driven at 2.4 watts. Then the new white led's have uv and ir so you don't need to get those lower watt diodes. Bysen diodes run at 1.6 watts. By that the plants will absorb more photons from the apollo rather than the bysen. I like the bysens too.. but it is what it is.

Apollo 4's are $177 + shipping

Apollo 8's are $226 + shipping.

Apollo 10's are $263 + shipping

Apollo 12's are $301 + shipping

Very nice Wejuana...........It seems to me that you have nailed down the proper nute regiment under leds/ looking healthy grower!..........I'm always teetering on the def/overfert line with my leds(2nd run).......can you give me a little info on your medium/fert dose & schedule??? thanks.....appreciate it.

@hyroot ..........how do you know that bysen runs all their led's under two watts?............you sure it's not the reds running @ 1.6w

yeah your right on about Cidly, makes no sense to buy a 4/6 spot apollo with those shipping prices.(minimum 8 spot model)

Hey Psuagro, thank you! Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays!

I'll put together an updated nutrient chart and post it on this thread within the next few days.

I suggest to only use the nute chart as a guide though, because different strains will need different things. I follow nute schedules pretty close but I do deviate depending on what the plants are telling me.

Here is a revised version of the nute schedule I have been using. Please remember to only use the chart as a guide, as all strains require a little bit different loving with the nutrients.

Make sure to thanks PSUAGRO for motivating me to get this done quicker. Please also let me know feedback on how the guide works for you if you try it out.

One love

Your welcome! I appreciate you following the grows and I am more than happy to help in any way I can. It's funny you say thats extensive because that is actually the simplified version haha. I also use B-52, Big Bloom (fox farm), Voodoo juice, Nirvana, and Ancient Earth.

I use the B-52 instead of Superthrive when I want to be on the more aggressive side with the PPMs, or if there is room to raise it if it is on the lower side.
I use the Big Bloom sometimes at 1/4 strength in the waterings between feedings.
I am rotating between using the H-2 and Ancient Earth, mostly because I bought the Ancient Earth and I dont want to waste it. Ancient earth is supposed to be Advanced Nutrient's 2-in-1 for the H-2 and F-2, but looking at the concentration of active ingredients, the H-2 is much higher in Humic Acid, so I prefer the H-2 to the F-2 or Ancient earth.
Nirvana I feed week 3-4 after I stop the Big Bud but before I kick in the Bloombastic, I just didnt add it on the chart because it's 2 weeks and it shouldn't make too much of a difference as the B'cuzz flavor covers the molasses/sugars nicely.
Voodoo juice I will use sometimes instead of the Rootbastic/Rock Supercharge to lessen the PPM's if I am feeding more aggressively.

Another rule of thumb I developed is called the rule of .2. Every watering I change my PH by at least .2. I found keeping the PH always dynamic and drifting really helps decrease the chance of lockout, toxicity or deficiencies.
