I know my plant is a male you can't read better than anyone else who looked at the thread. I wanted to know if one specific detail was male related and everyone and their Damn mother jumped up just like you and said "ah doy that one der haz da balls errrr". An issue that still hasn't been resolved for me because the people that could actually help are all high up in their palaces looking down at the rest of us. You'll notice that this whole thread got to where it is because the mistake was so novice they thought they should criticize a silly question rather than answer it and the follow-up questions. I've done nothing but read about growing Mary-Jane for eight long-ass months now. I've put enough time in to help out those I can, where as you've probably put in enough time to help everyone but you'd rather condescend. If I get banned oh well, but at least I'm going to do everything I Damn well can to help someone out before I do.
8 months reading and 12 years being a yardman and now you proclaim to be an expert...
I have over 30 years experience growing cannabis and was femming seeds before it was ever the "popular" thing...it is botany chemistry and genetics
You are incorrect that femming using silver ion infusion causes any males...there are only y chromosomes present so that is not possible...the more likely occurrence is error in the packaging by the seed producer/packager/distributor
Environmental conditions may at times cause sex reversal but in reality this is very rare and no blind studies have supported this...It is more widely accepted that the survival trait is being activated or the genetics are predisposed to the making of true genetic hermaphrodite xxy progeny due to better survival after YEARS of conditioning...This is why breeders select progeny that recess this trait... Female flower production is triggered in cannabis by the gaseous hormone ethylene...the blocking of the ethylene receptors ability to detect the hormone by masking/displacing copper ions in the receptors with silver ions stops the ability of the receptors to react leaving no recourse but male flower production....but this pollen created containing no x or "male" chromosomes means only female progeny can occur...surely "mutants" are always possible but the probability of this occurrence would be an astronomical number that wouldn't help this discussion
To say that environmental influences dictate sex determination more so than genetics is quite simply hogwash...for if this were the case then feminizing process predetermined sex genetically of the progeny would not be possible or at the least very undependable. Such is not the case however. I challenge you to use environmental factors to cause your seeds to turn out female and I will sts my females and pollinate them with that pollen and I will wager $1000 that I have all females and you will not.
Before you look to challenge others with your 8 month reading knowledge, grow some plants that show what you know...as in
Those are 4 femmed 5 weeks flower with 7 weeks to go Positronics Claustrums... that is 4 fem seeds 4 female plants..yes there are only 4 plants total in that room
Oh btw those were all topped at 2 weeks old above the second true node...soon as there was enough to
Quit being a parrot...you're lack of knowledge and experience and repeating what you have read/been told by all these grower friends is not help brother...I also would like ONE example of a peer reviewed study that environmental factors consistently determine sex of cannabis over its predetermined genetic encoding...and no quoting subfool doesn't count
