That's kind of close to Moscow to base 8K mercenaries who already tried to march on Moscow and to have Progo in the same place as his men, but Progo has no troops, supplies or money now. Vlad needs his internal security forces back home and the troops he has in Belarus now fighting in Ukraine or stationed around Moscow as security.

A sudden uprising in Russia was over too fast to have any immediate impact on the war in Ukraine, but it exposed a fragility in Moscow that Kyiv will seek to exploit, experts have said.

Retired Air Vice-Marshal Sean Bell has told Sky News that in the long run, Vladimir Putin will likely strengthen the defences of Moscow by "potentially taking some forces away from Ukraine reserves."

The mutiny in Russian, led by Wagner leader Yevgeny Prigozhin, has exposed chaos in the military command but what does it mean for the Ukraine war, Putin and the world?

On a lighter note,

Media: Russian law enforcement finds fake passports, cash suitcases at Prigozhin's office

Law enforcement agencies have raided the Trezzini Hotel in St. Petersburg, which is believed to be the office of Wagner PMC head Yevgeny Prigozhin. Earlier, the FSB opened a criminal case against the businessman for a military mutiny.

According to Fontanka, during the search, five kilogram bars of gold, cash currency in dollars, six pistols, five kilogram briquettes of white powder (the publication did not specify what kind of powder) were found, as well as several passports with a photograph of Yevgeny Prigozhin on different the names are Dmitry Geiler, Oleg Semenov and Dmitry Bobrov.

According to Financial Times, 6 pistols and 4 B Rbs (worth $47 M US) stuffed in boxes were also found in the minivan. Two other busses filled with cash were also found.

It looks like Prigo was planning a well subsidized exit from the country. A Wagner spokesman says they pay for everything with cash, including payments to families of soldiers KIA, which might explain the other two vans.

Do they get to take their arms to Belarus? Who pays for their room and board there?
I think you have it right. Wagner, as an army is dead. I've read estimates that the PMC Wagner burned through the equivalent of $300 million USD per month. Lukashenko doesn't have that kind of money and by the looks of the room where he gave his speech and especially the couch (bed?) he was sitting on when he gave his speech today, neither does Prigozin.

I read that there are no windows in the hotel. Smart. The dial phone is a nice touch.
