Putin held a meeting with military correspondents: key statements
Russian President Vladimir Putin held a meeting in the Kremlin with war correspondents. URA.RU has collected the main statements of the Russian leader.
- Vladimir Putin spoke about the need for decision-making by Russian structures in connection with attacks on Russia. He noted that the traditional air defense system has encountered difficulties in detecting modern drones. However, as Putin emphasized, there were similar situations in Syria, and they quickly learned to deal with these threats. Thus, the president believes that the problem is solvable. The President also said that he sees no point in introducing martial law throughout Russia.
- Russia was not interested in the tragedy at the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station, as this has grave consequences for the new Russian regions. However, as the head of state noted, the disaster led to a halt in the Ukrainian offensive. Putin noted that in this situation it would be better if the Ukrainian troops continued the offensive than this tragedy happened.
- For decades, Russia has provided assistance to Ukraine and supported its economy. However, as the head of state stated, Russia was not given the opportunity to establish normal relations with the fraternal Ukrainian people.
- The head of state said that the Russian state had nothing to do with the events that took place in the Donbass in 2014. However, as the president noted, Russia was deceived, since Ukraine was not going to comply with the Minsk agreements. Russia was "swindled" and "thrown".
- President Putin expressed dissatisfaction with the removal of the monument to the "founder of Ukraine" Vladimir Lenin and the installation in its place of the monument to Stepan Bandera, a scoundrel and fascist. The head of state expressed surprise that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who has Jewish roots, supports the revival of the name of the fascist Bandera.
- The Ukrainian military-industrial complex does not produce anything significant and may soon cease to exist, since everything necessary has to be brought from abroad. The issue of demilitarization of Ukraine is still relevant. The head of state stressed that Russia continues to solve the tasks of the special operation, there have been no fundamental changes in its tasks compared to the beginning of the special operation.
- The losses of the Russian military in repelling the counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are 10 times less than the Ukrainian ones. During the counteroffensive, the Armed Forces of Ukraine lost over 160 tanks. The structure of losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is currently unfavorable and is approaching catastrophic. The proportion between the dead and the wounded in the structure of losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine during the counteroffensive is 50/50. According to estimates, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have lost 25-30% of the equipment delivered from abroad.
- Everything possible is being done to help people affected by the flooding at the Kakhovskaya HPP. The President noted that the flooding of animal burial grounds and cemeteries after the destruction of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station is a serious problem, but it can be solved, and the RKhBZ troops will be involved in this. All victims of flooding in the area of the Kakhovskaya HPP will be provided with assistance in accordance with Russian norms and standards.

Military expert revealed when the area of the spilled Kakhovka reservoir will become available to the Armed Forces of Ukraine
Until the soil freezes, the territory of the overflowing Kakhovka reservoir will be inaccessible for the movement of heavy equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Until December-January, this will be a zone of swamps and impenetrable mud, Alexander Shirokorad, one of the leading specialists in domestic artillery, a military publicist, author of books and articles on the military and political history of Russia, explained in an interview with URA.RU.
“The Armed Forces of Ukraine planned to land troops on the left Russian bank of the Dnieper before the explosion of the dam. They captured several small islands nearby. Now, in my opinion, the landing of Ukrainian troops in the lower Dnieper is unlikely. I mean a big landing with tanks, self-propelled guns, with an infantry fighting vehicle, because they will get stuck in this huge swamp, which was formed after the flood of the Kakhovka Sea. Gradually, the water will come off, but the dirt will not come off. That is, some lakes will turn into swamps, into slurry. So they will be until December, until the soil freezes. Maybe even until January, if there is a warm winter. Until all the lakes, channels freeze, and the ground becomes hard,” said Alexander Shirokorad.
According to a military historian, now the territory of the overflowing Kakhovka reservoir protects against a serious offensive by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. “The spilled territory protects Russia from a large offensive by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Saboteurs will be able to get through, take control of some areas of the left bank a few kilometers away, but this will still not be of any use. It will be physically impossible to build any bridges. They can use high-speed boats and land small tactical landings, conduct such a semi-guerrilla struggle in this archipelago, which formed the spill of the Kakhovka Sea. They are difficult to catch. On small high-speed inflatable ships, they land somewhere, camouflage somewhere, they can even install mortars somewhere, ”added Shirokorad.
The interlocutor of the agency stressed that the main offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will be carried out to the north. “The Armed Forces of Ukraine will carry out more or less large offensives to the north, somewhere in the Kharkov direction. Maybe they will try to recapture Bakhmut (Artemovsk in the DPR)," he said.
The breakthrough of the dam at the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station after the artillery strikes of the Armed Forces of Ukraine
occurred on June 6 . As a result,
the settlements of the Kherson region were flooded .

General Tutrin explained how to create a "sanitary zone" for the border areas of the Russian Federation
To create a "sanitary zone" on the territory of Ukraine, in order to stop attacks on the regions of the Russian Federation, the Russian army will need to move the front line, for example, beyond Kharkov. This opinion was shared by the chairman of the regional public organization "Council of Combat Veterans", Major General Nikolai Tutrin, in an interview with URA.RU.
“The “sanitary zone” means moving the weapons away so that Ukrainian long-range systems do not shoot at our territory. Push back to the distance that would ensure that their shells with which they attack the territory of the Russian Federation, including the Belgorod, Kursk regions, and so on, do not hit. Push back the front line so that all long-range systems leave the zone of destruction of our territory. Move inside their territory. Take me somewhere beyond Kharkov so that there are no problems. Because our high-precision long-range systems will reach any enemy anywhere, ”explained Nikolai Tutrin.
Earlier, at a meeting with war correspondents, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that in the event of continued attacks by the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the territory of the Russian Federation, it would be necessary to consider the creation of a “sanitary zone” in Ukraine. It should be at such a distance from which it would be impossible to reach our country.
