I'm sure they will want to examine the balloon closely, form follows function in something like this and if it is as claimed, then let it drift on by heading steadily east out over the Atlantic... Ike used the precident of sputnik to define international space law and was himself itching to launch spy satellites under development, so Ike didn't mind losing "the space race" too much. Sputnik lead to a massive increase in American educational efforts, a big emphasizes on math and science, free or low cost state colleges and federal support of all kinds for local education. It lead to the moon a decade later and a host of technical innovations and scientific discovery that included the internet.

Next year there may be balloons deployed from military transports west of China, out the cargo ramp they go to inflate on the way down by parachute, dropping the hydrogen (what the hell, they're robots) containers and beginning their ascent, to drift eastward over China...
 
So, let me get this straight..the Chinese expect us to believe it's a tech billionaires weather balloon that went off course?

Isn't anything Chinese within American airspace an act of war?

It should've been shot down when I first posted..would China be as kind to America if the situation were reversed?

They really do have one..I took a virtual tour of Command Central. It's has a lot to do with satellites; there's a lot of shite going on up there..nothing NASA couldn't of done had it been financed again, of course. Zero end game at it's finest..carve out a section for babysitting; forget exploration..we've selectively and successfully shifted this to billionaire class.

If billionaires make a discovery it's theirs.

eek, yeah the training office is down here, they've already had a couple of graduating classes go through....imo space force should have been tied to NORAD and NASA, not a seperate entity......

or am i looking at that wrong.....dk
