yeah autos seems pointless to me to ,you can make any strain auto with 12/12 ,your just needlessly growing a strain with shitty ruderalis genes for no reason.

That being said the best use for an auto i think would be outdoors. You could get 2 crops done outdoors well before the cold weather sets in.april to june then june -august

Ya running 20/4 for a whole plants life cycle(high electricity bill) and not getting alot of weed out of it doesnt make too much sense to me. I will say it would make a perpetual grow with one room doable.

Kite, yes it's long, but leave it. It has some really great info and perhaps some who drop by the thread will get interested and start running some sativas. I agree with TC, that Panama Pelo looks really yummy and the COLOMBIA MANGOBICHE at the top is amazing. Do you think that could be grown indoors? 16-24 weeks flowering is a LONG time though. I really wanted a majority sativa, which is why I went with the Cindy. Great find to be able to get something with a Central and South American lineage. Reminds me of the "Panama Red" and "Colombian Gold" from back in the day. From stories that I've heard anyway.

that is panama red thats what rosa means

yes I will grow them all indoors

have 9 foot ceilings so with topping and stretch control it will be fun as hell

PD, I'm not too familiar with autos. I always figured that I would want to control the time of flowering with lighting as you say. If the genetics of autos are bad, I will stay away.

Another little update. I watered 2 days ago with 9/10 of a liter per with 1 tsp of epsom salt added to the gallon of water for some mag. No nutes this time; again I am leery of over nuting since I am in FFOF. I want to nute next time with 1/2 strength GH (FloraGro, FloraMicro, FloraBloom). The runoff tested at an average of 5.9 with 7.0 going in. It's getting better than when I first started and I have top dressed twice with 1 Tbsp of lime per pot each time for a total of 2 Tbsps. The pots are 12" diameter and about 11" high. I'm guessing around 4 gallon. :?: I would like to get the ph better and will top dress with another Tbsp of lime when I water next with the nutes; what do you think Kite, would that be OK? The colas are around 4" long on two and around 3" long on the other two after topping 9 days ago. I thought that these would be a little bigger by now judging from PD's but I don't know. They are green and growing so I'm not complaining. One silly question: my oscillating fan really moves them around as it goes back and forth and I know that's good, but it flipped one of the bottom (2nd node) fan leaves over and it has hardened off with the bottom facing the light and the top pointing down; is that normal? I'm guessing that the fan flipped it over, it may have just done that. Thanks again for the help and advice, I appreciate it. After all, I am just "Able to roll a Joint".

Its possible the fan flipped it, I can't imagine it will hurt anything, it may start to die off if its not working right upside down. Sounds like the PH is almost there, are you adjusting it down before watering at all. I've never worked with lime so I'll let Kite weigh in on how much is enough or too much, but my though was perhaps let the water go in a bit higher to help bring it up. Rather then continuing to add more lime and it possibly escalating further then you wanted. I might be way off base though its been along time since I was in soil.

two tablespoons top dress next time and pretty much flush it through...IOW put the lime on top run bout 10 gallons of water through it then feed it immediately following

have you flipped yet? went to 12/12 that is...and if so how long ago? reaqson I am asking is to tell you that if yopu are in the stretch period avoid any ferts with high P content as P promotes stetch

Kite, I have not flipped yet. I was planning on doing so next week on day 35 or so. I am using General Hydroponics Flora Series nutes. Yesterday I top dressed with 2 Tbsp of dolomite lime each, flushed, and then fed with Gro, Micro, and Bloom. Gro is 2-1-6, Micro is 5-0-1, and Bloom is 0-5-4. Again, I am in soil and using their recommended soil ratios at 1/2 rate. When I flip, I thought that I would eliminate the gro and just use Micro and Bloom. That would give me a balanced N-P-K of 5-5-5. What are your thoughts on that plan? Also, I know that stretch happens at the flip and that I need to control it because I only have 400 watts. Could you briefly explain that process or suggest a reference for me to read. I would like to learn the whys and hows of stretch and controlling it.

Edit: I read this old post a while back, https://www.rollitup.org/newbie-central/16524-stretch-what-how-you-can.html. Agree or disagree with it? Would it help me to flip to 12/12 leaving the MH bulb for the first couple of weeks and then switch to the HPS? My Eye Hortilux 430w HPS bulb http://www.eyehortilux.com/products/hps/PerformanceSpecs/lu430shtlen/66685 is supposed to have like 25% more blue than some other HPS bulbs. Since it does have some blue in it, I'm leaning towards just using it at the flip.

Just using the micro and bloom with GH is basically the lucas formula. I know the ml for hydro, but I don't for dirt. That's what I've been running for about a year or so now. I have added some calmag in the past to boost that a bit but thats about it.

Today is day 28 from all four being up as seedlings and day 32 from dropping the seed into the soil. As you can see, they seem green and healthy and growing nicely. The one in the right front seems to be slower than the other three and I have raised it to make the tops even with the rest. Added dolomite lime and flushed with fresh rain water yesterday. Also fed some 1/2 rate Flora Series nutes. The PH in was 6.2 and out was an average of 5.8. I will surely add some dolomite lime to the soil mixture before planting next time; lesson learned. I was thinking 1/2 cup for enough soil to fill a 3-5 gallon pot. Sound about right guys? Planning on flipping to 12/12 in about 7 more days.

1 cup per cubic foot powdered, not granules and NOT HYDRATED...dolomite lime that is...lol
Thanks Kite, I knew that you would have the answer. I knew not to use hydrated lime, but the dolomite lime that I was able to get here is called agricultural lime (dolomite lime) and is not a fine powder, but granulated. It's not as big as the stuff in bags for lawns and I put some in water to test and it dissolved pretty quickly. Did you see my question above ( post #95 )? I'm thinking that maybe for the first 2-3 weeks of flower, I would instead use the Gro and Micro. That would give me an N-P-K of ( 7-1-7 ). Very little P to control stretch as you say and then I would change to the Bloom and Micro which would be ( 5-5-5 ). Sounds like a plan to me but I would like your thoughts. Thanks for helping.
