so im hearing about the additives that Humboldt makes. the PurpleMaxx, Gravity, Snowstorm, and Bushmaster. i am on the Botanicare Pro Blend Grow and Pro Grow Bloom line of nutes. i am also using the Liquid Karma, Cal/Mag, Sweet, and Silica Blast. i also just picked up some Hydroplex. haven't used it yet though. im curious about these Humboldt additives. it says to only use once or twice in flower. i have heard phenomenal results. i am really tempted to pick some up. but the guy at the hydro shop told me not too. can you believe that?? the dude actually told me to save my money right now and wait. why did he tell me to wait? will i not have the results im looking for with it, using the Botanicare as well?? im realllly curious.

Gravity and Bushmaster contain known carcinogens. The chemicals employed are designed to be used on plants that will not ultimately be consumed by humans. There is a link to a better explanation in my journal in my signature line. I was given a free sample of Gravity at my local hydro shop. After researching I was extremely pissed I used it twice on my girls. I have since dumped the remainder of the sample jar down the drain. I'm Fox Farms all the way now.

im anti FoxFarm... i need some more help. i appreciate the response, but that does not help me. the results i have heard are fucking amazing!!! i do not smoke cigarettes, but im sure there is no more then your average pack of smokes. i personally am happy you told me that. if it is fully not 100% organic, or organic based, then im not really into them. i hear Botanicare is organic based. im not sure the difference. i do not smoke cigs, and am anti all that shit!!! fuck blunt wraps, cigars...i like naturally grown tobacco leafs from time to time. but im sure if you smoke cigs, you are consuming the same amount of carcinogens. im sure someone else will chime in soon. i hope. now im anxious for info. the guy at the shop referred me to Botanicare. he said Advanced is truly the best, but until i fully know what im doing, to not waste my money. which is cool! i have heard good things about FF, but nobody tells me why. they just say cuz its easy to use and i have good results. well, imagine if you used something better?!

Why I like FF - the bloom booster I use is Tiger Bloom and it has a balanced PH which won't throw your medium out of whack causing a lock out. They use environmentall friendly collected guano and earthworm castings. Tiger Bloom is also high in Phosphorus, important in flowering stage. I belive their Big Bloom is entirely organic, not 100% sure. Their Bush Dr. Microbebrew is an excellent source of beneficial micro bacteria - keeps soil healthy and encourages nute uptake/root development. Bush Dr. also has a 2 year shelf life, the longest I found in my research for any micro bacteria suppliment. I'm a soil grower and found thier Ocena Forest Soil to be the right choice for me. I used to use Miracle Grow, it sucks and will burn your plants.

I also use Cal Mag which is just pure Calcium and Magnesium with trace nutriets. Sorry I don't know more about Advance or Botanicare, I found what works for me and unless I get free samples I don't really fuck around with my nute schedule these days. Best of luck bro!

i understand. when i went to the shop, i had picked up the FF stuff. after talking to the dude, i liked what he had to say about the Botanicare. not to trash talk, im seriously not. but you used MG, most growers hate that shit, but FF seems like a nute line for beginners. i have heard nothing bad about FF, im dissing it or you. i was told i will have more control over my plants with the Botanicare. FF seems like it would work great! and trust me, im tempted it try it, seems like its a simple easy breezy system. the soil seems awesome, every time im at the shop i see someone buying a bag, every time!! and i go every other day, lol! what im trying to achieve, Botanicare is much better for me. i wont lie, mixing nutes is a pain right now! but im having very good results considering. have you ever tried anything else other then the FF for your medium? have you ever looked at the Roots Organic line of soil? im using that for my mothers right now. thanks for the insight on the Humboldt products. i still do not know if they are okay to use on my current grow though. ill hold off for now. i have more Botanicare to buy, and am running low on some of my bottles. i will def try this FF stuff out. like i said im not hating on it. it just sounded better to use the Botanicare.

I run dyna-gro and general organics, Love both of the lines.. General organics simply takes longer to mix everything.. and pH isn't nearly spot on like dyna gro

i fight with the ph some times, lol! i just bought a new r/o system though. so im just getting adjusted. mixing nutes is the worst thing about growing. its not very therapeutic, not as watering is. i was wondering about res tanks. i need to get some info on s elf watering system. if all o had to do is throw nutes into a big large trash bin of water and have a pump and an aerator, it would be so easy to mix and water. it would all be self contained and self automated. id just fill with water from my r/o system, mix nutes, set times and walk away.... i wish it was that easy!!!!! i have to look into that shit!!!

Also - I haven't used Miracle Grow in a minute, most growers start out using it because they don't know any better and quickly learn it is shitty. I'm tempted to try different mixes from time to time but I grow four autos at a time and average approx 1.5 oz off each plant every 70 or so days. If it ain't broke ....

im almost tempted to try MG. just for shits and giggles. i read an article somewhere they were going to start getting involved into the Med MJ world. but are not going to make a big stank about it. my first grow in the mid nineties we used a little MG. nobody knew and nobody said shit. times were a lot different back then though.

Yeah used MG in college. I was talking with a friend about MG recently who mentioned the same thing. I believe they are developing a soil specifically for cannabis. It will be interesting to see what they name it given their attachment with Scotts and corporate America. Will also be interesting to see if it works better than the MG moisture control soil I used to use. It kicked ass in veg but burnt my plants in flowering but still produced pretty decent smoke.

I use botanicare, fox farm & humboldt. I have each of all 3 brands products except Purple Maxx cause its garbage. I use Snow Storm for all of bloom and gravity for several weeks. Much more than two times. I would say FF works amazingly. I add botanicare as extra additives such as cal mag, sweet, liquid karma. But use FF big bloom / grow big & root drench throughout all of bloom with great results. I think the humboldt Gravity & SSU are amazing & work great. That being said, would this not be better off in the Nutrients Section of the Forum, Hey I have an idea. ;)

I have used FF nutes, Botanicare & Humboldt Nutes all @ once mixed together. (Not *every product) but a few from each & it worked for me.

I often mix FF Big bloom with Botanicare sweet/liquid karma + Humboldt Snow storm with no bad effects.

sorry about posting in the wrong section. im still new around here. ok!! so i CAN use the stuff. and yes. i have heard unless you have a a purple strain and you want to make it purple the purple shit is no good, and the snowstorm is way better. i picked up the bottle and read the back, and it says to only use once. maybe i need to read them again. im still puzzled on why i was told to wait until my next grow to use the stuff. now im super tempted to pick the stuff up. and yeah, im not really digging on the Silica Blast. i have 2 plants that are started to get nute burn, started right after i introduced the SB. and only on 2 plants. i have only 3-5 weeks of flower left. 2 plants started before the other 8, and the Skunk plant looks like she will need an extra week or 2, i think its is all the sativa in her. the others are showing more indica dominant traits. now i know why its easier to just grow 1 kind at a time. or 2 that have the same characteristics. thanks for the info!!! i appreciate all help!!

I'm using botanicare cns17 trio and sweet berry, dyna gro cal mag pro, floralicious plus, and for the first time this grow liquid light + saturator, and snow storm ultra. I caught wind of the whole carcinigen thing and have been researching it all night. I've read very convincing data that goes both ways really, if anything the cancerous part was leaning against gravity and bushmaster. Never read alot about the ssu. The comment that decided it for me was about how so many nutes actually have carcinagens in em that noone thinks about i guess. For instance i swear by products that contain sulfur. And i dunno if yall have actually seen what floralicious plus looks like but theres gotta be something in it thats cancerous. Our tap water has lead and god knows what else. whats so bad about these "prg's" thats worse than what we take in every day?
