i seen an article years ago with an LED vs 400(i think)HPS/MH side by side grow comparo.

In veg the LED blew away the MH in growth and structure was nicer , in 12/12 tho the HPS lamp kinda blew it away. That was along time ago tho (prolly 05/06ish) so maybe the newer LEDs are more powerfull.

The light in the test was an equivlent to a 400 or 600 whatever he used so it was kept fair.

Be interesting to see yurs honkin away :)

Well false claims gave leds a bad name for a while. Like saying 90w is equal to 400 w hps. Crazy stuff like that. There is also the issue that many are advertised as higher Watt than they actually pull.

For a good test, they need to run actual equivalent Watts.

Senseimilla got 5 240w blackstars for a small grow. He just started last week with them.

That early rom is making me twitch

Lovin' my LEDs so far! Of course when I get to harvest that'll tell how it really went :) I really think minimum I'm gonna get is 2oz/plant due to size/rate they are ripening unless I fuck'em up but we'll see.

I'm hoping to get 1oz per plant in a full cab once I get a second led. Although I might really need a tent if the leds are as good as they say

that grow i was talkign about was pretty legit, the guy payed good money for his rig and wanted to see if it stacked up to the claims, so he did it right and the wattage was close ... that much i remember . The 12/12 wasnt all that bad, it just didnt fill up the colas as much and the buds were looser. Yield wise i think the LEDs did a lil less but it was still respectable. After seeing the veg results tho it made me wanna buy some just for vegging. I love my T5 H/O's but the LEDs were fuckin golden! The price kept me away, but they were real costly back then cuz they kinda just came out, i think the technology is alot better now to.

Well sounds like he tried a legit comparison. For me its either led or nothing BC the hps is just too much heat. Already burnt a bit of buds

I had the heater vents off and my windows open through winter. I need a dog gate on my door and just let it heat the whole house next year

My second box is full of inch worms / catapillars :(

The tomato plants I took out to report got these little red bugs running all over them :( can't put them back in the cab :(

I forgot the other news

Wow, I been gone too long! Voidling-- watchout man those are probably spidermites and will fuck up your whole op if they get on your girlies! Yeah the worms and beetles are hell this year. They've decimated my yard and gardens-ate the green beans to the ground. If you've not bought BT yet it's time to do so. We are going to have a bad bug year, with the drought last year and abundance of rain this year.

Voidling broseph!!! I've been checking ya thread all the time. but usually have no real time to reply..This new Dad shit is kicking my ass. My own problems makes it really hard to help..But my wife is awesome and is a killer mom.

I got more test seeds...Wink wink....Did you organize them into two separate groups on looks? Or is that just the way is happened? LOL IM :joint::hug:

Ive been considering one my self too. I run an old 400w MH that is from the 90's and ive been lurking some other led threads for a long time....Im glad to see you now too. Fucking expensive shit they are... I hope you got the newer type with the 3w bulb circuits?

ONce you get going your gonna get good and figure out a way to get that light back in the mix..I know it. :) Keep kickin it bro
If ya can wait to cut clones like a week after a transplant they will start to shoot out...Give ya some good lowers to take.

G13's grew compact..If its any heavy cindy I like to imagine she has "arm" that will grow... The g13's wont need support if any til late flower..Any floppy armed bitch should be pinned up fromt he start just to give strength to grow buds stress free. Cant wiat to check thsi shit man.. Your a pioneer right now for this cross...Are you an theowl on the same age? Or roughly maybe you cna go off his dates to get back on track.
Here is a quick one of a g13 haze @ closing of 8 weeks..Gonna check it at 10 and cut it I hope..Last time at 8 and the other at 9 could went a bit longer so lets test two at 10 and go out with a bang:hump:

I gotta try to relax and lay it down.
I have high hopes of a RIU weekend and get my new journal under control and more how I wanted it to be. Before I just lost track and weaved in and out and kinda just lost it. I just axed my Fast nevilles...Its a fucking beast :) Gotta get the pics all cropped and get the good ones. Cant wait. Ive been growing shit over and over now so I am excited to try something new that I grew.
My g13xC99 are looking good so far. Not near as dark as those tho. But they definitely have a tinge of color in the centers of the leaves. Thick and hardy stems, very compact growth and already starting branches. I topped them once. Will get pics up tonight if I can.

Cool, I haven't topped mine yet.

What is bt and where do I get it, how do I use it?

My thought is clover mites. I started clearing wood and trampling down weeds. The bugs are everywhere in mass but don't see any webbing. But clover mites eat plants too. Not putting the veggies back in the cab which is unfortunate.

I e got tons of catapillers in my cab already and some spiders. Guess that's what I get for putting it a shedin an unfin

BT is a bacterium that affects caterpillars. It gets in the gut and kills em. But won't hurt other things like birds if they ate an infected worm. Best on young worms.

These mite things are orange with a single red dot. I don't see them on the plants, but running over the soil and container. They're everywhere. Anyway to safely spray the yard for them?

Voidling

They look kind of like ticks I think. Fast little fuckers. I want to find me some ladybugs and preying mantids

Those you can use pyrethrins for. And can be sprayed in yard too.
Pyrethrins even work on fireants. Thing is, it's a contact killer, has to get on them.
Whereas BT is systemic and has to be eaten.
