Rolling into day 51, and things are really starting to thicken up in the 2x2. The light is kicking ass & taking names later by the looks of things. :weed:
The trichomes are really starting to show their faces.
As far as smells go, on #2 I’m getting a sweet berry scent. On 3 I’m smelling straight up Vicks vapo rub/strong menthol. One of these girls is giving off a pepper/spice smell as well, but I can’t pin point as to which one it is.
According to the breeder the nag champa leaner should have a flower time between 55-65 days. It’s looking like she may slide into day 70-75 before the chop. Didn’t get a time for the other, but either way… we’re going til I feel they’re ready for my liking.
Hope everyone had an awesome week. Enjoy your weekend. :bigjoint:IMG_6384.jpegIMG_6382.jpegIMG_6383.jpegIMG_6381.jpegIMG_6380.jpegIMG_6386.jpegIMG_6358.jpegIMG_6365.jpegIMG_6362.jpegIMG_6352.jpeg

Day 58:
The nach champa pheno is coming down. She looks nice and swollen. About 90% of her pistils have turned a brownish color, and the calyx are nice & swollen. There are a few spots where new pistils are shooting out.. but I believe that’s just her last ditch effort at getting pollinated.. I’m satisfied with the trichome color being mostly cloudy.. a few clear.. and a hint of amber here and there. Nice work Hydro! That Nach Champa looks nice and frosty. Does it smell like Nach Champa?
Thanks!
Idk what nag champa smells like. Lol I couldn’t tell you to be honest.

Edit: I looked it up.. I’d have to agree with the initial description in general.. as they keep going.. they lose me. lol

“Nag Champa has a sweet and earthy aroma, which is described by many as calming and warm. Due to its balsamic odor, Nag Champa incense is burned during spiritual practices for its meditative benefits. For some, Nag Champa resembles the smell of jasmine, or the forest.”

This will be the final update on plant life for these girls.. #3 was chopped on day 60 (Monday)
After inspecting the plant I found a little later herming on. I did find 2 nanners around Friday-Saturday.. but no way by the looks of them were they able to spread pollen. Must have been something I missed, or it was hidden well.
I found spotswhere it looked like seeds were growing in clusters. Not just pods.. I can actually see the small round shiny green seeds being formed. Long new pistils protruding from them all.
From a few feet away.. they look pretty good.

However when I zoom in closer on some parts… you can see what I found.. IMG_6514.jpegIMG_6506.jpeg

I’ll recap in a bout 8-10 days. It’s going to be about that long til I bother to open the tent again.. as I went to hang this last plant, I discovered the bagseed plant that was chopped on 6/26 is already dry. So we’ll be trimming her up today & getting her in jars.

Congratulations hydro, it was so fast, I thought it would take at least a week.
Great job :clap: :clap: :weed::weed::weed:
Thanks. I thought it would need another week.. two wouldn’t hurt, but since the plant has shifted gears to seed production.. I rather not waste valuable time & light hours on something less desirable. I am glad it the second plant got this close before something went sideways.

I’m looking over your grow and saw how you topped above the first node (day 29-30) which is a pretty ballsy move, right? The little that I’ve read so far says to top somewhere between nodes 3-5. You took that axe to the base! What difference do you think that made?

I only topped them to take the tops as clones to sex them in another tent under 12/12 light schedule. It was done on purpose for sure to keep them small while I found the males.
It all depends on what you want as an outside when it comes to when & where you top. I didn’t have enough room in the tent to keep both plants, and top when they were taller, and cut at a higher spot.

This grow is in no way typical to what I would have normally done. I’d have filled the tent. I do a better job at that in a 4x4. The seeds were testers, and I really wasn’t shooting for a huge yield.. but I have clones. One will be tossed outside to see what it does.. (the one that started bugging in the end) The other is interesting. I will be running it again.

To answer your question… topping where I did.. only made the plant produce less. I was just trying to be slick with the clock with all I was trying to do.

This tent is 24” x 24”.. I am going to be running the purple pheno again in a slightly larger tent (27” x 27”) in a net.. filling the tent up for maximum yield using this same light. Being a clone from this run, and me using this same light.. I may just update here.

Here’s a before and after trimmed top from #3 (pbb pheno)
I’ve only taken off the big leaves, and left some of the smaller ones as you can see in the pic.. but my thought process reminded me that they’ll dry up more later on and fall off in the jars. I figure I beat on the trichomes less this way.

She’s had some weird scent of Vick’s on the stem rub, but the nugs smell sweeter now.

Since the conclusion of this grow I have since swapped tents to my taller 27”x27”x62” mars tent, and added a bp1500 to the rafters for extra light. I filled a 10gal pot with some recycled soil and transplanted Exotic Genetix cut of Grease Monkey into it. This was done on July 14th.
This will be the second time that I rely on straps to hold the walls back. Didn’t do too bad last time. IMG_6600.jpegIMG_6601.jpeg
I will be performing very little maintenance on her this round mostly due to lots of things going on in life. She was too dressed with Dr. Earth homegrown at the transplant every 2 weeks since. Last too dress I added Flower Girl to the mix. 1/4 cup of homegrown and 1/2 cup of flower girl. (This took place when I seen flowers forming at day 14.)

Here she is after being put in the net on July 14th. IMG_6603.jpeg
Here she is today: Day 21F

Anyone else thinking they are getting too much light with each fixture at 50% (75w each) ? Only the tallest branches have fan leaves showing magnesium deficiency, and she may be short on calcium. Haven’t had the soil tested. I only flushed it in the old pots, then added compost and a small amount of worm castings mixed in a bin with added perlite. Any suggestions on how to keep it from spreading would be greatly appreciated as I’m a newb as it is.. and just recently started messing with organic only grows.

2 weeks have passed since I last updated the grease monkey clone. She’s doing pretty well if you ask me. Things could be better, but that’s just me trying to get the hang of dry organics. On the bright side.. the plant is taking over the tent very nicely.
Both lights still at 75% power. In about a week I’m going to turn them up. Closest cola to the light is 12.5”.
This is day 36F IMG_7029.jpegIMG_7020.jpegIMG_7017.jpegIMG_7030.jpegIMG_7031.jpegIMG_7032.jpegIMG_7021.jpeg
