I hear you man. The thing is the plants are asleep by 8 and i'm sure they don't wake up at 5:42 on the dot. Average light is not something I made up. I looked it up.
Obviously its strain dependent but Im sure a plant kept at 15:15 hours light inside would flower. I have had plants flower inside at kept at 16 hours.
Thanks for the input if they are just pre flowers I will cut the plants back by another third.

Also I don’t see plants getting any bigger than the ones doublej posted and those were clones started Jan - Feb. So vegging for longer than that strikes me as a waste of time. Not saying it’s bad to veg for longer I just don’t see it providing any benefit other than the joy had from growing something?

Joy of growing- thats it baby. These have been chopped down 1/3 a few times already. I got 90% of the nutes for free from companies to test them out since I work for a good nursery.I didn't really spend money on that + lights were on already for other grows...
I respect your growing knowledge 28.3 5 but with all do respect they were not autos. Some strains will start flower at 16 hours. Have you ever vegged at 16? Probably not; that is why we recommend to new growers a minimum of 18 hours on.
Sorry if my grow offends you guys.

No, why would I want to veg at 16? Love to see some photos going into flower with 8 hrs of darkness.

If you are growing for profit, hell ya it's worth it. If you grow for yourself, family and friends I don't think it's worth it. 12 small clones started in late spring will be plenty. I did the big winter veg one year and the monsters produced way more than we could use in two years. I started dropping bags around town for people to find so the stuff wouldn't get too old.

There is no reason to veg at 16 I did it for experimentation. I spent the time to dig up these old pics but they still dont prove anything...
A little context. These plants where only watered upright they spent their entire lives being rotated, flipped around/turned away from the light to create odd bends and short fat plants without any topping.

no you are wrong on the hormone part
although... who knows?
I mean, can the science absolutely rule out any type of these root influences even in unusual or highly specific circumstances?

Let's say you take a cut from a mature photoperiod and root it 2 weeks under 12/12 why doesn't it flower instantly?
What difficult-to-understand internal processes happen when a cut tries to rebuild roots and can this intermingle with the flowering behaviour?

I have been working on it. I will go thinner, less mold, less popcorn. I really think one of these two plans is flowering...
