Utopia Haze Problem

I started a Utopia haze seed from barney's on 6/17. It's growing fine, in fact it's growing better than the all the other girls I got from attitude's promo last month. The only thing is it's leaves are really fat, very indica like. I was wondering if anyone has grown this strain and had the same experience or I got the wrong seed. I bought 2 single seeds and got all the freebies including the UFO Rocklock. Another possibility its an indica mutation of utopia haze. I'll most likely start another journal with these but we'll see:eyesmoke:. So help me out, what's your input??

I have brought seeds that really seemed like the opposite strain... I do believe they make mistakes sometimes or run out of stuff and give you whatever. But your plant looks great!!!

Good SMoke!!

Thanks man, Yea it's a possibility. They were selling out single seeds left and right. Wanted to get super lemon haze but it was out of stock the first day of the promo. They were pry so busy it's likely they made a few mistakes. I'll be able to tell for sure once I get her to flowering.

I am not sure. Its looks very healthy so either way should be good. However, I have noticed the first couple sets of leaves really look not much like what the next couple sets do. Give it a chance either way.

Thanks for the reply B Dub, sorry I took so long to reply. Been really busy with life and trying to find a job. Yeah the leaves have been getting skinnier and skinnier, with a serrated edge to them. I'd post pics but too lazy/tired. I just transplanted her into a 3 gallon pot 3 days ago and she is loving it. It's gonna be an awesome Halloween this year :D

I don't think it's in Attitude's best interest to be selling other seed strains because of shortages, though I'm willing to accept the possibility of mistakes. It should be noted, however, that Utopia Haze is infused with a small percentage of Afghan genetics (Afghan, North Indian and Mexican according to the Barney's Farm website). It seems likely to me that your plant is simply expressing - more prominently than usual - its Afghanica genes. Plants also tend to have broader leaves the younger they are, as their light requirements are greater.

I also have Utopia Haze plants going at the moment. One plant looks very Sativa dominant, with very large, slender leaves and is very stretchy. The other plant is still Sativa, but is looking more balanced with Indica traits. Just keep in mind that plants from seed will always be somewhat unpredictable in their genetic expressions, and although uncommon, can express their recessed traits very passionately.

Hope your plant's doing well! Looks like you're probably in mid-flower at the moment. Please, post more pics if you can! I've been wanting to see other grower's Utopia Haze plants. :weed:

It doesn't look anything like my utopia haze mine displays sative like qualities and streched up to 1.20 m before flowering

I bought my Barneys Utopia Haze from Attitude seeds, and mine to look indica! Whats up with this? Did yours turn out Sativa?
