Using a Regular House Light to Grow?

I don't see the chart now, but I did when I first posted it .. I will try again ... and also try adding another different one.

HID Light Efficiency
puts out as much light as
111 incandescent 100 watt bulbs. One 400 watt MH bulb
puts out as much light as
20 fluorescent 40 watt tubes.
The first chart still did not seem to take/remain even though it was there when I first posted it ... but the one that is there gives you an idea.

Actually they provide a full spectrum of light, a more full spectrum than metal halide or high pressure sodium. They just put out VERY little of it so it takes a lot of them, a very lot of them to do the job and it is very inefficient in every way so it's just not done.

ok convinced me to keep using my hps and mh and not change for incandescent

I sure hope so. I only posted what I did because it is a myth that incandescent bulbs cannot be used and that do not put out a light spectrum that plants can survive off of. They can be used and the light spectrum is very broad ... but they are so incredibly inefficient that it is not worth using them.
In the chart that doesn't seem to want to show up it shows how it takes 84 regular 60 watts incandescent bulbs to put out the same light as one 400-watt HPS. That's 5,040 watts to do the job that 400-watts can do. Who in their right mind would ever take that route?

Believe me, if you pissed me off ... you would know it, there would be no doubt about it.
What's funny is as much as some of the puppies around here believe they have seen me pissed off .... they haven't. While typing what might read as a pissed off reply I am usually grinning up a storm because I find the inane and immature to be laughable so when replying to the inane and immature I am normally grinning like a Cheshire cat.
