Upgrading Lighting Question

whats up guys. we are about a week away from finishing up our first grow of blue mystic. it has been very difficult strain for us, lots of problems. however, im planning on getting a better light setup. right now we're running one 400 watt hps. i just dont think that is enough. the buds look good, but i know they could get so much bigger if we had more light. ive been looking online at a 600 watt mh/hps air cooled light, it says it puts out 95,000 lumens with the specific bulbs you get. do you think 600 watts will be enough?

600W are quiet a lot, in light and power, hydro will like you

it is always the question what you want to do with it, flowering 1000 plants at once - well no, gettin 12-16 thru flower sure as hell and that you lookin into a air-cooled is a smart move too you can move closer and bring more lights to your babies as you reducing heat i your grow at the same time, air-cooled rocks the grow

first of all how many plants are u growing? the 400 may be all u need

How many plants are your growing? Anymore then 6 and I'd go with 1000 watts.

we will be doing no more than 4 at a time. just small time grow, personal for us. right now we only have 2. we started 4 and killed off 2 males. but i think the reason the buds may not have got to their max potential is from being stressed out too. we will be doing a lot of things different next go around. i guess we had to get the first one under our belt

400 WILL be fine for 4 plants, although 600 would be even better. Well, 1000w seems like a little much but if you can control heat and are no concerned with electricty costs or the cost of the unit itself, 1000w is always the best choice.

while your at it why not get 2 1000w for 4 plants, yEAH! LOTSSSA light...

No, I'm kidding. 600w with some well placed CFL's will impress you.

I have a 400w and man do I wish I would of gotta a 600w my room is small 3'x6.5'x 8' tall and I have the abbillity to divide it in half and when I divide it in half I still wish I would of went with a 600w If you have a decent size room go with a 1000W for anything bigger than a 4'x4' area. A bigger light will increase the overall yeild and health of your plants. Or you could take your current 400w and get an other 400W and run em both at the same time.

well one of the reasons im wanting to switch is because the system has both Mh and hps spectrums. so that will be much easier. plus the light is air cooled, which will help out with my temp and ill be able to move it closer to the plants. i think the size of our area is like 5ft by 2 ft.. and then we have like 10 ft ceilings.

If you have the venting in place go with the 1000w if not go with the 600w

ive seen 4 plants all grown under a 250 with acceptable results, if u want to be economical and are only growing for personal use u really dont 400-1000w in my opinion.

im just not really happy with my results. i mean i figured that with a 400 watt hps , i should have full mature buds. i mean they arent even connecting at least half way down the main colas. they look beautiful still, but i just feel that i atleast need an air cooled light, that way they can get closer.
