the reason it's slow is because it's a large bucket so the plant is spending its energy on growing roots to the bottom
2 questions for ya bud, what is hempy style, Is it starting a seed in it's final pot? An when outside in the ground how does it reach the bottom of the pot? (Last one sounds like a dick comment, not trying to be just curious to learn)

So it's a weird way to hydro. Didn't get that lesson on when the root reaches the bottom of the pot in nature.

Interesting but if you look at them as well as the mediums their in I think it could be amount of water retention. The soda pots have a very small surface are so air/water evaporation happens at a much slower rate then the buckets. When looking at the ones in soda soil they are both bigger then the ones in the perilite(less water rententive). It even shows the difference from the soil buckets compaired to the perilite bucket(smaller then the soil bucket)
I'm still in disagreement. While the roots hitting the bottom may have a little bit to do with the growth rate. If you look at the 3rd picture, while the containers may hold different amounts of soil you can clearly see the bucks have the same depth.
no they don't, not only are the buckets deeper but the roots are also spreading wider.
Except he's in perlite/verm and they won't last that long without ANY food.
