Hey guys!
So I’ve been vegging my girls for about 4 months and filled out a 5x10 scrog with 4 plants. These ladies are monsters! Since I’ve started I’ve been doing a mix of base nutrients on day 1 then on day 3 I would give organic nutrients and mycorrhizae then on day 5 just plain water and start the cycle over again on day 7. I’m currently I’m week 3 of flower and running the GH Floranova bloom base solution with floralicious plus and wanted to concoct my own booster solution.
From what I can tell the following ingredients all play an important role in either bud structure, taste/terpene production or resin output:
Epsom salts, monopotassium phosphate, potassium sulfate, Chitosan, citric acid, kelp, banana tea, molasses/dextrose, triacantanol and harpin extract(If there’s some I missed PLEASE feel free to bring it up...I’m here in the name of science). Most of these are known and are claimed to be the “secret sauce” of some beloved go to nutrients like bud factor x, big bud, sweet, bud candy and terpinator.
This is the feeding that I gave them tonight after the base nutrient + floralicious that I gave them day before yesterday.(the mix that day was 1050ppm in and output runoff of 750-800 with avg ph of 6.4)
Tonight’s menu was for 2 gallons
- 10ml calmag plus(Botanicare)
- 5ml silica Plus (Botanicare)
- 2g MPK 0-54-32(monopotassium phosphate)
- 15ml Tidal Vision’s High Tide Shellfish extract(0.5% Chitosan and citric acid - undisclosed amounts of acid)
- 250ml coconut water(overall health booster)
- 1 tbs Kelp master extract
- 5ml Moringa FPJ extract
- 3 cups banana tea(Made by steeping 5 banana peels for 4 days and burping the bottle twice a day for oxygen exchange)
- 2 g Karbo Boost(dextrose...aka molasses without the ppm)
- great white mycorrhizae
Total solution came up to 950-1000ppm. All girls ate it happily and spat out 7-800ppm runoff
Although...I ph’d the final mix to 6.1 yet my runoff was starting to creep out of range at 6.6-6.75.
I heard that the mpk can throw off ph a bit and also the citric acid because it fluctuates like crazy.
Would really appreciate the help of a grower with experience or a chemistry background To advise me as far as a good buffer that I can add to hold the ph a bit more stable...and also if what I mixed tonight could be somewhat counterproductive to the end goal of some fat, tasty, frosty buds for harvest. Look forward to hearing your comments and suggestions!
