Found the thread. They were two piece square bucket, one sat inside and at top had a ring supply water from am airstone and pump.
Sounds like a Watrfarm,I have a 4 site system. Get a chiller, I wanna try under current rdwc.Grow Trees 1plant 3k watts.

I have a chiller also. Used it on my reef tank. The pump will be attached by bulkhead so I don't add to heater. Between a chiller and heater on a controller by apex, I'm set. It will also work with my ph probe and whatever else I wanna hook to it. I'll be able to control the room from my phone if I wish. Including live vid feed. Apex controllers are the shit!

If your gonna use this as the Res.Gonna need to some how make it lightproof.
As you know algae will be a issue.Tape, paint or cover with some R-max board to help insulate.....Would be my suggestions.
Beech
ps.Im ready for you to start very interested!! With all you have done with Pools this should be
easy peasy.

ill be spray painting it black. I'll be using atex board on top to mount the water pipes. The feed pump will have a drain T in it so I can do quick water replacement. I always have 40 gal of ro/di water on hand due to needing it to make salt water for my fish tank. I'll just add a feed line with a float valve to the res. I'm thinking about installing a doser to the system so that once I'm comfy, I'd like to experiment with constant supply of nutes that would maintain that weeks level instead of letting them deplete as they are consumed. Instead of increasing each week by a greater amount, have those values increase by smaller amounts daily based apron consumption. Maybe I'm over thinking it, but weed is a lot like coral. They rely on the same things to grow and maintain strong cell structure.1- I do weekly water changes in my tank and replace the minerals used, good coral growth. 2-I water change weekly but maintain levels by dosing nutes, phenomenal growth.

Sounds like a plan.
Which line of nutes are you gonna run....Here good and bad about the PH perfect.

As you know PH is key in hydro, and some plants take up nutes at different PH levels
why I liked my ph swinging from 5.5 to 6.1.Some strains are so finicky, and if your gonna run
different strains in the same res or grow it can be a challenge.

ill be sure to start off with like strains in that case. Ph should be easy to maintain. Ill find the ideal alkalinity compared to the affect the nutes have and set the doser from there.
Not sure which line I'll be using. Tbh, I'd like to make my own through organic sources. But that's down the road. Not even sure what strains I'll start out with. I am still in love with my Durga mata strain after all these years so I may start with that. I haven't found many I like more. If anything, it's more like I've found strains I wanna cross with it lol

You remember this plant? Its The AK-47 my 1st bought seed in 2007.Yea,I wanna try the Mata...
Beech
i do! Is that the ak/grapefruit? Dura 47 would be some killer smoke. I had a cross of it but had a bad grow year and didn't save enough beans of it. It was great stuff

No,Just a AK/47.Your thinking of AK/47 x Juicy Fruit.
That was Epic! Smoke.
Beech
Ah, that's it.
Hoping to get started on my new room soon. It's tough with my grow in the middle of the attic and it's lights off in the daytime. Govv have to pic a day to bring them downstairs and put them somewhere dark. Fkng house has no storage lol. I gotta empty out half my attic but that's good so I can throw all that shit away. I'll build the hydro part within the next few days if I can. I might put an ac unit in up there and just grow year round. Would suk to get all this set up just to do a short grow and shut it down till fall.

hey before you spraypaint the res, i think it would be cool if you set it up and put a few drops of dye and took pictures to trace how the water flows to us, that thing is really cool, I like that it incorporates fluid dynamics

Here ya go

its a little dif than mine but same op. On the right side there would be a return pumps. On mine, the holes on the left are drain from hydro tubes. The walls act as bubble traps. You can pump a lot of oxygen into the water without making a mess.

I wish i had a copy of that shore line.OUTSTANDING job growing it beach.
In hydro that biatch would be a straight fucking critter,
If you have to chill your res. You will want to insulate the res well.It will help your chiller from running as much.
If you use ZONE or H2O2. you will not have to worry about Pithium or other bad bacteria building up in your res.Zone works well used at the rate of 2 ml per gallon.
This can allow you to run a little higher temp in your res.But still 75 is the max for me.I have found if i separate the rez from the grow room helps me keep temps lower..at least in a basement.
If you can Shock the root system from time to time with cold water it will push the plant to give up more resin to protect itself from the oncoming cold winter.
What i mean by shock is around 50 to 55 degree F water temps.
I agree with Beach.I want my PH to range some also.
I am running some hygrozyme along with the zone with outstanding results. You can not run mycos with zone or h2o2.It will just kill them.
If you run a AC in the summer time you could if you had duct work run a duct run on top of the res using it to cool the res with.(just a idea)
If the temps are to high in the winter and you need to run the A/C you will need to set the A/C up with low temperature controls.
Dehumidificetion or a humidifier ,Many times in areas that are hard to keep warm they lack humidity in the air. This is need for proper bud development. In the 50% range.
In the summer there may be to much humidity in the air and it may need to be removed. Some growers use the collected moisture in their res.It is pure water,
