Thanks for the guide.

Is it possible to grow from veg to flower with a 5000k? I was thinking about getting one of those 200 watt ones and using that along with a couple extra lights. I plan on doing my first budget grow soon and I will be using diesel ryder.

well you cane use 5000k from start to fnnish but i would recomend you get a few lights along with it in the 2700k for flower remeber the more light you have the better and as close as you can get it with out burning also i found some bulbs at h@@e depot that are 68 watts or around 300 watt replacment that are in the 2700k range for about 15dollers and they plug into standard socket versus mogul

Hi,
I'm new to growing and i am looking at setting up a micro gro. can anyone one tell me if 5x32w CFL 6500k and 5x26w CFL 2700k would be sufficent for a 3 plant scrog

I tried to start my grow with with a simular set up but i read to use between 68 and 125 watts per plant. Ive expanded my garden slightly (to 9 plants) but i am using 405 watts actual equiv to 1306 watts. The 67 watt (300 watt) single lamps at home depot are great 2700k monster blooms with these.

u may want to use less 5000k light during flower period

Thanks deh, i was considering buying 1x200w 6500k (for VEG) and 1x200w 2700k (for Flowering) but I read Rosemans bubbleponics tutorial (which is excellent btw) and he says that lower wattage CFL bulbs have a higher lumen/watt ratio so therefore its better to have many lower watt bulbs than fewer higher watt. So now after some more reseach i have decided to buy 6x32w 6500k & 10x26w 2700k. In the vegging stage i will use 3:1 ratio with the lighting(6x6500k:2x2700k). For flowering i think i will use a 5:1 ratio(10x2700k : 2x6500k).

Can any one suggest a light schedule for the big bud x northern light strain from seed to harvest?

Thanks in advance

thanks this cleared up alot for me but do all the different watt lights come in all different k's like 26 watt = 2700k and another 26 watt = 6500 k etc.

Doctor doctor... I have an issue, A BIG ISSUE. I have 2 plants that I started one hempy, one bubble-ponics. hempy is off the board never again, takes to long to grow. the bubble one took off twice as fast and nice bushy like a 70's playboy bunny. my issue both went to hermaphadites, YIKES. what causes this? Im cutting them up to get rid of the male parts. the only thing other than Xing them off totally. I want to avoid this from happenning in the future any ideas?

signed very mad.

Um....In this you specify 5000k-6500k for a good veg....and you are very right, I thank you for that.........but i just got a light that is 7800k. My question is would this have any benefits...if i put it in with the other lights too

Will 2-27w cfl's be sufficant for the veg stage in a micro computer case grow?
PEACE. Sure you can use two 27W cfl's for veg and it would be sufficient, but if you are looking to get a great yield then you are going to have to provide more light during flowering. THe veg period doesn't need as much light as the flowering period and therefore you ahould be good with two, provided that they are 1) Not old or used too much (they lose their shine after a while), and 2) you have reflective surfaces ie. Mylar or flat white painted walls.

To answer the question for you and others that may need to know, YOU CAN USE ANY NUMBER OF CFL'S TO PERFORM THE TASK AT HAND (FROM 1-100) BUT ONCE YOU SEE THE RESULTS FROM THE FEW THAT YOU ARE USING YOU WILL WANT TO ADD A FEW MORE AND TRY TO UP THE ANTE TO GET MORE OUT OF IT. JUST BEAR IN MIND THAT YOU WILL HAVE TO PROVIDE MORE LIGHT DURING FLOWER THAN YOU HAVE TO DURING THE VEG PERIOD AND YOU SHOULD BE GREAT. THE KEY TO GOOD CFL GROWING IS IN THE LIGHT DISTANCE FORM THE FOLIAGE. From my experience keeping the light at at least 3-6 inches away will provide the best light coverage and you will get no stretch other than the natural stretch that they go through during the flowering period. This is important because of the fact that CFL's have limited light coverage and penetration and therefore the buds are going to be somewhat airy or fluffy. That will hurt you if the plant was stretched unneccessarily and you will have a bunch of popcorn instead of the bud you could have had if you had the lights close enough. Cfl's are not an optimum choice in the growing of ganja, but they provide the best alternative to HID's with great returns if you use them correctly.
