Trying to reason with hurricane season

We are up to 57 days between named storms. Third place in the record books for longest breaks between storms. Just a few days away from 2nd place. It looks like that is about to change. But it's going to miss me by a long shot. We have only had one small hurricane since Michael. Fred I thing it was. Not much of a storm, but lots of damaged trees still came down.

It's startling to see the weather patterns changing so rapidly all across the world. We've been breaking records right and left here in the PNW. The way things are going you'll be able to plant citrus orchards in a few years in the Willamette Valley.

I have flowers that are perennials in their native countries but annuals here due to the cold that are now overwintering and coming back the following year when before they would die off.
 
After a slow start, we are starting to see some action. First major storm of the season. Rough on the two islands it's hit, but looks a fish storm here on out.

 
I had meant to post yesterday when it was still called Number Nine. So just assume a little time travel here.

 
It's still up in the air who is going to get it. Tampa was looking like the winner, but the longer it takes, the more it will head west. ie my way.

 
After the last few updates easing to the west, they finally have it moving back east a little. Anyway, it looks like wind shear is going to trim it's sails if it comes all the way to the northern gulf.

 
Some good did come from the storm though. My wife got a new phone last year, and I was using her old one to record hiking videos. After my last hiking trip we could not find the phone. This was late winter, something like that. Today we were gathering up all the battery backups to make sure they were topped off. Could not find my hiking battery, so I dug around and found my old electronics bag. It had the battery and the phone in it. The crazy thing was it still had 80% charge.

The beat goes on. Ian is now back up to cat 1 and headed to south carolina. Folks in south florida are in for a long haul.
