Trying to make myself high dose edibles

If you want simple I would go with making oil. I use MCT oil in the magic butter machine and it turns out awesome. 2oz of good bud, 500ml oil, 1 tbl spoon of lethicin and your sorted. If you don’t have a dedicated machine just google other methods of mixing. Otherwise make some butter and buy a browny packet mix and replace the normal butter with your infused butter, when I’ve made these previously 1 browny is plenty and the packet only called for 185mg of butter..

They advertise then on quite a few forums but I never knew it they work. From what you say I would have like to try one. That would beat the heck out of RSO on cinnamon toast.

I know there are other machines on the market but in OZ we are limited and i have not regretted buying it. It makes life simple and is well worth the $$ if you want to make butter or oil etc..

The machines all seem to get pretty positive reviews. If I was starting from scratch I could see it, they get good results with what's seems like minimal effort. I couldn't justify buying one personally, crockpot is already pretty easy, but I haven't seen anyone say they regret it.

Thanks for all the help guys, I’d love to hear from anyone who has experience in making high dose edibles
Coconut oil seems to be the choice here, I’m guessing a high fat content as THC binds to fat or something along those lines
More or less, coconut is what they say allows for the highest concentration. MCT is fairly close. I just eat a spoon of the stuff so coconut oil is nice as it tastes ok.

Just running the oil multiple times through fresh weed should get it as strong as possible and seems like your best bet. I've only done 2x, but don't see why you couldn't keep going. I would focus on trying to make sure you are able get as much back out as you put in, each time you run the oil some gets lost by remaining in the plant material.

I really like it, its simple to use, easy enough to clean and has got me good results. The filter bag that came with mine is 190 micron which is decent, but after the filtered oil sits in the bottle it does have some sediment build up on the bottom. They do sell seperate filter bags that are smaller micron which would be real nice but i just purchased the new filter press which filters to approx 75 micron. This should have the oil near pure again and im keen to try it.

The edibles aren't going to be stronger the THC. If you want them stronger you need more THC. There are only two ways I know of to do that.
First, more oil. The second I wouldn't recommend because it requires lab work to separate get the THC out of the rest of the RSO. PURE THC. Not worth it.

If you really want it stronger fill your caps with RSO (with lecithin). That's probably as strong as it gets.

Be carefully how you use it. Mct oil has a 320°F smoke point temp. Not ideal for baking or cooking.

I use it in cold infusions with concentrates. I use coconut oil for baking or weed capsules.

I dont bake or cook with it. Once infused i put it in dropper bottles and its taken sublingually (under the tongue). I would make butter if using for cooking..

Been making MCT tinctures for sublingual use for a while and love them. Something I started doing that you may want to try is mixing in other cannabinoids (CBG, CBD, CBN, maybe a little THCA) and making a different ones for day and night etc.

Good point on customizing edibles!

You can also add terpenes and essential oils.

I've even used melatonin in sleep capsules. A friend adds turmeric in his capsules.
