The plot thickens... This won't be over for a long time, there are lots of loose threads for the FBI and DOJ to pull on to unravel it all and send a lot more to prison over the next few years. They will do a really deep dive into this when the rats start squealing and dealing, one can see how they would be interested in Alex Jones too.

I don't think Trump can be sued to be kept off the ballot over the 14th amendment until he applies to run for federal office. He can't be kept off the republican primary ballot because the GOP nominee is not a federal office. Probably 26 states or more may keep him off the ballot with suits in state court and it doesn't matter what the SCOTUS does because it requires a 2/3 majority in BOTH house and senate to get him back on the ballot. Those red states who keep Trump on the ballot would have the lawsuits appealed to the SCOTUS to have him removed, but not reinstated, congress must do that. These lawsuits in the states can't begin until Trump applies to run for federal office and then they can be used to keep him off the ballot, but by then it would be far too late for the GOP and they would in effect concede the election to Biden. Donald will probably be in jail or prison and muzzled during this process that is likely to happen in September or October of 24.

Anyway, that's the best I can do with this week's tea leaves. The possibilities are constrained by the law and constitution and that says Donald is disqualified from running for president but not in the GOP primary (IMO) since it is not a public office. The law and facts also say Donald should be convicted and in custody (so say the majority of legal experts) by the GOP convention in 24 for J6 crimes, though no criminal conviction is required for the 14th amendment to kick in.

Former President Donald Trump now says he won't be holding a press conference next week to unveil what he claims is new evidence of fraud in the 2020 election in Georgia, citing the advice of lawyers.

No compelling evidence of the wide-scale fraud Trump alleges has emerged in the two-and-a-half years since the election, according to state officials. Republican officials in the state — where three recounts confirmed Trump's loss to President Joe Biden — have long said he lost legitimately.

"Rather than releasing the Report on the Rigged & Stolen Georgia 2020 Presidential Election on Monday, my lawyers would prefer putting this, I believe, Irrefutable & Overwhelming evidence of Election Fraud & Irregularities in formal Legal Filings as we fight to dismiss this disgraceful Indictment," he wrote on his social media site Thursday evening. He added, "Therefore, the News Conference is no longer necessary!"

Trump had announced that he would be holding the event hours after a grand jury voted to charge him and others in a sweeping alleged conspiracy to illegally overturn the results of the 2020 election and stop the peaceful transition of power.

He had said he would use the "major News Conference" at his Bedminster, New Jersey, golf club Monday morning to release what he claimed was an "almost complete" report, adding, "Based on the results of this CONCLUSIVE Report, all charges should be dropped against me & others - There will be a complete EXONERATION!"

Does that mean we will not be getting flying cars either?

Someone convinced him that opening his piehole in public about his case is dangerous and just adds to his trouble, the trial that counts is in a court, of law, not in the court of public opinion. As far as the public is concerned, his Georgia TV trial will cover the same ground as the federal J6 one but will take longer to try. That one will be the most important for the public, the one on TV, Donald could be in federal custody by the Georgia trial and courtroom TV coverage will be national and wall to wall. Even the Trumpers will watch it because Donald will be there, though in a very different setting and they won't like the show.

I've wanted a flying car since I read Tom Swift and his amazing flying car as a kid. Saw a clip on TV the other day about this one that is basically a quad copter set up more like a flying motorcycle. 20 min flying time at a max speed of about 37kmh so not going too far with that.

I waiting for the new book, Donald tRump and his amazing invisible evidence pile of crap. Ought to be about a 2 min read.

Surrounding oneself with four fast-moving unducted propellers sounds like product liability to me. I certainly would not want to be on one.

Actually, there are 8 props, 4 redundant pairs, new batteries could triple its flight duration time or more. A real contender for getting skeet shot by farmers as you zoom cross country over their fields...

The design sucks and it looks very dangerous, ugly too. Batteries are the key to such concepts; I think they might be the closest thing to a flying car. With new batteries the Jetson1 might fly for an hour or even 2 and have wheels on it to push it to a quick charger after landing nearby, then IMO it would be a serious recreational vehicle for those with the bucks, on par with a motorcycle.

Actually, I haven't been flying much lately, bad leg and foot, but when I do, I prefer to do it remotely from a lawn chair under the shade of a tree. I never even bothered to buy fresh batteries this year and the ones I got are getting stale, new regulations kinda took a lot of the joy out of it for me. I might get into FPV RC boats though and could power them with plane props and use some of my RC plane stuff too, no regulations in that area and I can experiment with autonomous operation.

What change of regulations and how recent? I haven't even started the flying course I signed up and paid for but have lots left of the 90 days. Not sure I should have bothered tho as I'm feeling a lot more enthusiastic about getting back into fishing and related things like fly tying and now rod building.

Maybe I can use the drone as a down payment on a bigger boat next year. ;)

You have a sub 250-gram drone and don't need a license, things used to be a bit looser, but the way the regs are written they got you whatever you do, and the fines are stupid. Same thing in the US and EU, remote ID is coming or already in the US I think any Karen can point a cellphone at the sky and make a complaint to the FAA in the states and Transport Canada here. I have seen some video recently of Canadians doing long range quad flying and posting recent videos, dunno how they get away with it. To fly FPV legally, you need a spotter, and the drone can't be out of his unaided sight. Foreigners can't fly drones in Canada so forget international wing and drone races, you are not even allowed to advertise an outdoor RC flying event FFS. The war in Ukraine shows why this is so, as far as I know there has been nobody killed by a hobby RC plane or drone, more people are killed by golf each year, but they can easily become weapons and kill billionaires at a distance for $400 a piece...
