TRUMP CONVICTED

He'd better call Saul. He already blamed the NY justice system for that publicly. I'm a little surprised he didn't repeat that in the courthouse despite the public knowledge.

He was playing his air accordion before the trial. He had the pointy finger out at lunch time. Wait until he finds out what his big statute of limitations win actually means for him other than he got away with at least some of it again. Trump probably refers to the statute of limitations as the "fuggid about it" rule. Those crimes are scot-free because of the "fuggid about it" rule.

I hope he returns to court again. I like watching him scowl. Touching his money is the worst thing you could do to him. That is his personal being, his persona. You can sense what's going through his mind right this instant. Revenge! A black woman (N-word) did this! Biden did this! Democrats did this to me! Unfair! Mar-A-Lago is worth more than $1.8 billion! I'm a billionaire!
I think the penalty should be the difference in the valuations he showed the banks and the valuations on which taxes were based. That should do him.

Trump fundraises off fraud trial: ‘Nothing can break me’
Former President Trump on Monday was quick to fundraise off of his fraud trial in New York after proceedings wrapped for the day.
Trump’s campaign blasted out a fundraising email with a subject line of “I just left the courthouse” roughly 20 minutes after court was dismissed in Manhattan, where the former president had been present.

The fundraising blast repeated many of Trump’s claims about the investigations and charges against him, including that the trial is political in nature and a continuation of a “witch hunt.”

“Politicians, drunk with power, are weaponizing the legal system to try and completely destroy me — and, ultimately, imprison me for the rest of my life as an innocent man. And why do they want to stop me so bad?” the email asks.

“Because they know that I’m on the verge of winning the 2024 election in a landslide and upon taking office, will take away their power and return it to YOU, the American people,” it continues. “So, let me say for the millionth time that NOTHING can break me.”

The fundraising email was similar to those Trump has sent after indictments and court appearances in other criminal proceedings, including federal cases in Washington, D.C., and in Florida, and it underscored how the former president and his campaign have sought to capitalize politically on Trump’s legal woes.

BREAKING: Ivanka Trump is hit with devastating news at the Trump Organization’s fraud trial in New York as its former accountant testifies under oath that there were serious discrepancies in the price of Ivanka’s penthouse at Trump Park Avenue.

But it gets WORSE for Ivanka…

The accountant testified that he pointed out several “errors” on the Trump Organization’s financial documents pertaining to Ivanka Trump’s penthouse — meaning that the Trump Organization knew that Ivanka and Donald were committing fraud.

According to CNN, the accountant restored that “Ivanka Trump had an option to buy a penthouse apartment at Trump Park Avenue,” and that “the value on Trump’s financial schedule was different than what was listed in Ivanka Trump’s option.”

In other words, Ivanka Trump was in up to her neck in her father’s financial fraud.

New York Attorney General Letitia James has long suspected that Ivanka Trump committed financial fraud — but she didn’t have the evidence to prove it in court.

She now has first-hand testimony from the Trump Organization’s longtime accountant — meaning that she can now sue Ivanka Trump as well.

It might take months, but I think the NY fraud suit will break Donald and drive him into bankruptcy, he doesn't have the cash to pay $250 million and disgorgement will clean him out. He is about to be publicly financially stripped naked in court and could be broke by the time he is disqualified this December and most likely by the time his is convicted in DC this spring.

Nothing is certain, but Donald's disqualification is as certain as his criminal conviction in DC this spring IMO. I'm also pretty sure the NY judge will hit Donald up for much more than $250 million dollars, if he gets into disgorgement of ill-gotten gains.

Trump is fighting fires on all sides. A defendant charged with felonies in four separate criminal indictments, he seems to be laser-focused on the immediate threat of this civil case. Why else would he decide to attend the start of that trial, which is estimated to last three months? Trump’s decision to attend is particularly noteworthy given his past behavior. Remember, he elected not to show up at the civil trial of E. Jean Carroll’s claims of sexual abuse and defamation. Even though the trial resulted in a $5 million jury verdict against Trump, he never appeared in that courtroom or faced his accuser in person.

And yet, clearly something about this trial seems to have gotten under his skin. As Lisa Rubin observed, unlike past court appearances, Trump’s fury was on full display on Monday.

This week, James threatens to send this house of cards tumbling down. And his constant attacks feel like confirmation: James’ allegations are hitting their mark.

Engoron must now decide how much the defendants must pay in disgorgement of their profits because of their fraud. The attorney general is seeking $250 million. Engoron must also decide whether Trump and the other defendants acted intentionally, knowing that their financial documents were false. He must decide whether the false valuations were significant — a concept known as materiality.

Engoron has expressed caustic disapproval of the legal maneuvering by Trump’s legal team, as well as Trump’s valuation practices. Last week, the court criticized Trump lawyers’ legal argument as “pure sophistry,” sanctioned seven of them for making “bogus arguments” and fined each $7,500. After summarizing Trump’s arguments, the court was blunt in its disapproval: “This is a fantasy world; not the real world.”
