It might have started as a way for this guy to game the system, but I can see it cascading out of control as lawyers see an opportunity to get cash from Trump, since their clients don't have any money! An early trial is what Trump, your codefendant doesn't want and those who are pleading guilty just want to get it over with. More money means more resources for a better defense and an early trial date reduces legal expenses considerably, so does a guilty plea and cooperating.

He turns himself in today, when are they arraigned, the same day? Trump already has restrictions on him from the court and bail has been arranged. When do they plead in court on TV? When is the arraignment and when does the show begin.
Someone should park a van with a big screen TV mounted on the side so the magats outside the court can see the trial inside! See what they are protesting against and see Trump whittled down to size by a black woman and humiliated on national TV. A van, a TV, some battery banks an inverter and a good antenna, since it will be broadcast everywhere, maybe an awning for some shade over the screen. Might be a way for some creative Youtuber(s) to make some money catching the reactions of the magats to the trial... Even the networks might try it!
