Triploid or not

Of all reading I've done on polyploidy, I've only seen examples of seedlings and buds..not one that's been vegging for a couple months that started off normal with 2 opposing fan leaves then ending up with 3. I hadn't paid much attention to this one as it was almost 4' tall before I transplanted it from a 6" pot. Looks as if a single node appeared in between the doubles then worked it's way up until it converged?? Don't know if it's a male or female yet. I fim'd it before I realized what was going on

If it is it should have shown from seed, recently got one from some testers of a cross I made of Harlequin x Blue Ripper (JTR x Blueberry), it's now in a 1gal and looking solid.

That's a cool seedling but all my reading about this is they turn back normal when they reach adulthood, but still very cool none the less. Thanks for sharing. Is this a current seedling or plant u have now? Still pimping out 3 nodes? Have u flowered it? All research I've done has been on the internet so don't really know what's true or not. I have read on more than one site that triploids are super difficult to clone and almost always sterile unless u breed with another triploid...but hey that's just reading research papers and what not on the internet. Some say that they are super vigorous and some some say they are very slow to grow. Mines 4' tall with just fan leaves with just the beginnings of branch growth so we'll see where it goes

Will track this one a little more as I grow it out and see how it behaves. Will try and grab a good pic of it later tonight, it's still throwing out tri-leaf nodes as it grows out, think it's running around 6 nodes right now, really tight, indica structure. I have a normal Blue Pyramid going and they look almost identical other than the tri-leaf structure.

Haven't read anything definitive on them either so I'll track this one throughout the cycle and clone it to see how easy/well it clones. I'm actually hoping it's a male to use, never know it could pass on that trait. The Blue Ripper male that made this cross passes on a 9-finger leaf trait, only off the main cola, the rest throw out 7-finger leaves, even my F2's maintained the trait, will be interesting if it carries through further down the line.

Hey, I have 1 of those right now too PICT0002 (9).JPG , a Dinafem Critical+ 2.0. She's about a month old PICT0148.JPG , and has started to stagger nodes, but they are still 3 as near as I can tellPICT0151.JPG. I'm curious if it has any bearing, I got it when I popped the remaining 4 in my 5pack of beans to get the best keeper, so it will be interesting :) It does seem to be a little slower, but much tighter spacing so far than the 1 I ran already, but pretty earlier to speculate lol..

Here's that tri-leaf pheno 3 weeks later in a 1gal. It's still throwing out 3 leaves per node and smelling dank on a stem rub. Will flower and clone it whether it's fem or male :)

Interesting article but sounds more like folklore than science. 30-40% THC, would love to find a clone of that!

In the meantime, the tri-leaf pheno I posted above was one of two initial tester seeds of a cross I made with Harlequin x Blue Ripper (JTR x Blueberry).

I popped another 6x seeds and left for the weekend, came back to this baby! Sweet. That's 2 of 8 seeds which popped a tri-leaf pheno. Hoping one of them is a fem and the other a male :)
Have about 200 seeds of this cross to go through :weed:
