Trim my bush(y scrog)?

Hello again friendly neighborhood growers!

Just wondering if it is a necessity to trim anything from my scrog canopy. This particular strain seems to have a relatively high leaf to flower ratio and its just bushier than anticipated.

I know that I will have to trim anything below the screen but is thinning my canopy necessary? Appreciate the help! Just switched to 12/12.

I would wait till stretch is over and see how they look. You have an even canopy so not really needed

I have just kept tucking leaves at this point. The plan all along was to avoid any defoliation, just to lolipop. Is there a certain canopy thickness that would require defoliation?

I only defoliate leaves that directly cover a bunch of buds or are too dense and just enough to let a good amount of light in.

led lights tend to do that during veg. Check out a cmh 315watt vs an led in veg. Crazy difference in results. CMH creates longer node spacing for veg (similar to the sun) while the LED is best for creating denser spaced nodes (which is why lots do cmh for veg and led for flower now)

Your plants seem to be doing well. I wouldn’t trim anything right now. Your under canopy is already clear for good air flow, and you actual canopy is nice and even. Keep tucking and weaving for another week or so while it’s stretching to finish filling the screen and keep that nice canopy management. Then once she starts flowering let it rock and roll!
