Trim Jail is Hell

On another note, when did appearance of weed dictate how good it is? How can someone go into a dispensary, look at a bud and say “it’s fire” just by look? My product may not look like theirs, BUT my product tastes, smells, smokes, and gets you higher faster and for longer than dispensary weed ever has. I can smoke my “20%” and be higher for longer than the highest THC dispo bud. Fact!
Seems today alot get caught up on looks over effects unfortunately

Yeah, it's kinda weird. I remember when it was SO cool to get a big cola bud/stem -as opposed to the ultra-efficient trimmed buds of today. It's really just the result of when things became commercial. No one wanted to pay for stems and extraneous leaves.

How many people have bought a car over looks verses functionality and mechanical level? The visual appeal is very much a part of us like it or not.

That is the joy of niche growing you can do what is more appealing and enjoyable vs what is done commercially.

The response from putting a 22 gram cola that was 66 grams wet on a rolling table with papers is priceless.

I’ll admit, I do like the look of a well manicured bud… but I could give a shit less what my car looks like just as long as it’s safe, warm/cool when needed and mechanically sound.

I know that some people don't mind it. I didn't used to mind it so much when I had plants that weren't too leafy. I even made a nice, comfortable space with music playing and the whole nine yards.....But, it took me 4 days! My eyes are shot. My back is killing me. When I close my eyes at night to sleep, all I see are tiny leaf tips. I love growing weed -the whole process.....except trimming! :)
I just finished trimming some stuff that had been against the ceiling where light wasn't bright, and it was so leafy much of it went into my trim bucket to be made into edibles. So also I don't care how close I trim cause there's no loss with reclaiming trim.

My point is more that looks can be deceiving think of a good thai or a real haze for a good example it might not be as pretty as some of the more modern stuff but it certainly is still worth smoking

This reminds me of listening to my grandparents talk about how they grew up on farms and had to work as unpaid labor for their parents, shucking corn or whatever. Trimming reminds me of cleaning fish: it’s not much fun and your hands get disgustingly sticky. That’s why I don’t mind letting my wife do it.IMG_0005.jpeg

Some diy might help. Box fan with hacksaw blade will take off all the larger leaf. And a bowl trimmer does a good job if you’re not trying to sell weed that looks like dispensary… never had a complaint so far. If you do it wet in the trimbowl there will be less loss of trichs. So box fan, bowl trimmer, drying rack. Nobody is gonna care if there is a flat spot on the buds… as long as quality is there.
My mate bought a bowl trimmer and I mocked him till I saw his results and borrowed it myself.
Then bought my own.

Because I wet trim it's almost as good as my own hand trim. Providing the bud is reasonably dense.
Like a few mm difference in closeness of sugar leaf trim.

Never seen a flat spot on any of it.

Not gonna lie its turned what was a few 8 hour shifts into a single 4-5 hour shift.

Wish I'd done it years ago instead of telling myself it would ruin my buds

If the buds arnt getting enough light kind of thing they be a bit more leafy
I was good like under the hps lights this led is a struggle but the actual much thc on your fingers or scissors woulda been a sign of a good grow
Less on your fingers better quality buds

Can you really appreciate a bowl trimmer if you hadnt trim at least a pound by hand? I was smiling so hard. I factor in if a strain works well with the trimmer if I am going to mother it. Highly influences if I keep it.
