trichome photos

I see a lot of long stalks with damaged or missing bulbs (trich heads) and brown pistols.

Something is going on but without more info its hard to guess.
Could be bud rot from poor environmental conditions or something like russets attacking your plants. You've definitely got signs of pest damage.

ok so 2 out of well over 3 dozen buds have a single dead sugar flower lobe, all else looks fine, here is the plant, and i took that one bud, photographed it whole then split down the middle. i am not seeing anything but if you see it say so.

and if so, i would likely harvest tomorrow.

that bud is in a bad location and gets brushed a lot when i pas by going to the corner so thats probably physical damage. started just walking through my basil now because i knew too much of that isnt a good thing

Rough overhandling can cause just as much damage as any pest or pathogen.

went out with a uv flashlight after dust and before dawn and saw no issues anywhere, from what i understand most molds/fungus/rot will glow as well as insect eyes of course

Dude do yourself a favor and get those blue tarps off the fence. You need as much airflow as possible this time of year. Get a fan or two ot there if you can it really helps alot. Imo airflow is the biggest thing to prevent budrot especially at night with the still autumn air.

You never know if he lives in a high wind area.

the tarps were for hat and full sun at 100 deg, i had some heat stress in August and that saved them. the heat seemed to kill off the underbrush and dense stuff, where the mold would form, and all that area is wide open. also the tarps hide them from the only neighbor that could possibly see them. they are only on one side now (south), so plenty of breeze. our highs are going to stay in the low to mid 80'd after wed so relief is nigh, but the cooler weather also favors mold/fungis/rot

no caterpillars, combed through the whole plant and found 1. i really dont think i have any issues, i was mainly looking at trichomes and wondering what stage i am in, etc, but everyone thought i was trying to diagnose a problem. yeah this bud has taken some manhandling being on a corner so close up it may look like damage, but overall you dont see it, only found one praying mantis recently tho i am sure there are more in there. uv light shows no mold or fungus, and i dont see anything with the naked eye either. figuring i need to let it go 2 weeks at least, but getting antsy. last week i made some oil out of storm damaged stalks and it knocked my ass flat out, i think i ended up taking a little over a teaspoon. never again! did the classic "well that little bit didnt do anything so i'll take a little more" until w.h.a.m. i literally couldnt walk without extreme concentration.

so i wanna go as far as i can, but as strong as this stuff is now i am fine with an immature harvest. just nervous about rot etc, but all through the veg stage i sprayed with neem and spinosad alternately so hoping that did it for me

Hello everyone,
I know I haven't posted here in a very long time, but if I may add my 2 cents... What I see in these pics from @surfgeo looks VERY much like bud rot aka grey mold. This is most commonly caused by caterpillars in outdoor grows, and rough handling can open wounds which allows the spores to enter even without caterpillars. It is extremely important to kill this mold ASAP! In my outdoor garden I use Actinovate (lawn & garden) biological fungicide. Over the years, I've learned to mix it 50% stronger than the directions say. I use it often and it works wonders. Just make SURE it's fresh by checking the date on the bag. After 12 months it's toast (too old to use).

Hope this helps... :weed:
