You could Also use H2O2 kills on contact 23% mix 10 parts 1 part hydrogen peroxide works very well for me and I use as folia spray. I do this three times a week to keep pests at bay. you can use a stronger mix but DO NOT TOUCH PLANTS ROOTS ONLY and keeps roots healthy.

I just put some of my babies into 12/12 flowering. I am going to use your idea for prevention, because it looks like I am aphid free for now. I have used H202 before and it seems to be very plant friendly. The soap insecticides dried out and withered my leaves in my recent experience. I have a full bottle of the potent percentage H202 on hand. Thanks for bringing up the idea. I used H202 before for powdery mildew.
