If you are buying from dispensaries or caregivers the time and cost to renew your card is worth it. Taxation is incredibly high for recreational. If you are growing your own then I see no benefit to renewing your medical card. You can grow 12 plants without the card under the recreational law, and you can legally possess whatever amount is harvested from those 12 plants. With medical marijuana registration growers can only possess 2.5 ounces legally from a 12 plant harvest. That is woefully inadequate. Registration simply gets you access to caregivers and dispensaries which will sell you dope cheaper than anyone else, because there is no taxation. If you are growing your own do not register. It would be a waste of money, time, and you would only be able to legally posses 2.5 ounces from every 12 plant harvest.

What's this roadside drug testing? I'm not in the know on this, and I'm thinking maybe I need to be.

Just read about it. Refuse any roadside saliva test. The penalty for refusal is a simple civil infraction. Tell the officer thanks, but no thanks.

I saw Michael Komorn state that to Mlive back in January during the second pilot pimping himself (his law firm) as a "drugged- and drunk-driving attorney", but he makes no mention of the specifics about said civil infraction.

Defense attorneys say drivers should refuse Michigan’s new roadside drug tests

I believe we'll have to wait and see how this all shakes out in reality :confused:
