Hey guys. Im back with another post. Heres some pics of my very first indoor grow, topping, training and mainlining. The black fabric pot is my Black Rhino and the grey pot is my Dinamed CBD Plus. Ive been using all organic neuts; Iguana Juice Organic Grow. They are under 1000w sunrise led light, with a heater keeping the tent at 25°C and also a humidifier keeping the tent at 56%humidity that is regulated with a controler. Ive got an oscillating fan and a 4" exhaust with a charcol filter. The Black Rhino is 41 days old from sprouting and the Dinamed CBD Plus is 38 days old from sprouting.
To all you mailine experts, hows my grow looking and how much longer do you guys figure I Flipp from an 18/6 light schedule to 12/12 light schedule?

The CBD plant is growing at a much slower speed and was hoping to wait till each new stem got atleast to its third set of nodes before I flipped. What are your thoughts?

Nice comments only please, I can handke the truth, but lets be honest, some take it to far.
Thanks in advance and hope you like what yiu see. IF your interested, you could view my Journal and see all my steps taken so far. Cheers

Good so far.

I agree with you and would keep growing the branches going sideways until they have reached the edge of the pots then flip to 12/12. That way, the individual branches would put out a few more bud sites.

I believe that the SUNRISE LED light uses around 200 real wall watts and not 1000 watts. That's the "equivalency wattage". So you might not get donkey dick colas but should get some OK tops.

Thanks StareCase. Nice to know im on the right track. I do know the sunrise equivelent is infortunately very low. I only have a 2 x 4 tent (which i forgot to mention) and may buy another and daisy chain them for double the watage. Wanted to it out first, get used to it and go from there, and it seems to be working out.

Good plant. Learn how to grow with LED's then expand from there. Might get totally different LED's once you get the hang of it.

Yeah, I could tell it was a 2 x 4 cause I'm also using the same sized tent. I've got two (2) Viparspectra DS600 dimmable LED's totalling 580 wall watts = 72.5 watts / square foot. That is getting to the top end regarding wattage / square foot.

I am very interested in trying this mainlining method...I've previously only grown auto's with the exception of bag seeds in my teenage years haha. But for this current run, I've 4 White Rhino's and I am really curious about this mainlining method...I tend to be a very anti-defoliation type since auto's don't handle it so well, but I feel like there's a whole new world of options running photoperiod strains.

Hi F4l,
Nebula suggests that it's ok to leave some fan leaves during the early period of training...like where you're at. That is clearly Nebula's method which is supposed to be at least a week faster. So now you just need to veg them. How tall are you going to go?

Hey Johny D. I realized after i did it to leave a few. They are still in great shape and are still growing as of yesterday. As of right now, my tent is a 2x4x5 and was planning to get max yield but with that being said, nebulas formula sais to grow em to half desired height then flipp. These guys are still flat, since ive been training that way since day one. To fully answer your question, I dont realy know. Never looked that far ahead. Whats a suggestion? Thanks for your input. Greatly appreciated.

To Frank and Logan, check out my Journal for some day to day growing for this method. I could help you out as much as i can, but im not an expert on this. As John D has said, this is the Nebula grow.

Well Dude...you're talking to another beginner. I had only read NugBuckets tut when I started. Gonna do the Nebula approach next time. Some I removed more leaves...some hardly any at all. I'll post a few pix to show you where I'm at. I am going to follow what Nebula said about flipping them when they are half as tall as you want.

I am practicing this in preparation for training a lankly sativa...in which case I won't veg as long. These plants are a little over a month old and all have been trained.
JD

PS You can see I left lots of foilage. The group phots shows my veg canapy. Some are growing a little faster then others.

Fish...
I actually have been toying with the idea of putting a HPS bulb to replace the current MH. That would get some vertical growth going...

Guess we in the same boat. Hahahaa. Ur plants look good. My black rhino has just reached the edge of my 5 gallon fabric pot. The Dinamed CBD Plus is way behind and is mainly Sativa dominant. All let the black rhino grow taller now and let the cbd grow out. Hopefully they both come to some tyoe of mediun where i can flipp and both benefit from it. Keep me posted John. Cheers

Hmmm, that will do it. Hahaha. I went LED and everything else because of budget, being my first time and trying to save money. I know that some lights(not led) could consume the same amount of energy as my led and may give better yeilds but I have not dobe into depth on it.

Fish,
Give it time...they'll get growing again. The training can slow things down. Nebula says if you wait till you get to 5 or 6 nodes before first topping...it won't slow growth asmuchl. I finished watering and found a plant with better visualization of stem structure. This one is about a foot tall. Again Nugs technique...

I did wait till 5th or 6th node for each my plants. Weird. Im assuming that the black rhino is more indica dominant and the dinamed cbd plus is more sativa dominant. They may react differently to topping, growing in general, watering ect. My buddy, who grew the same cbd plant says its a slow go at first then once it flipps she gets going. Im still learning and getting to knownhow each plant and each strain and each of the indica/sativas grow. That plant looks good and is a bit different from my flat conopy. Same affect tho i assume. Lol. Thanks alot.

Ya...getting the timing right is a pain in the ass...at least for me being new to such training. I've used this with multiple hybrids. Matanuska TF and Black Widow both took to it well. But I have a G13Widow (MrNice) that is a single cola plant and doesn't like training.

I also have a CBD strain coming up. Just tiny now (3 nodes) plus some sativas that hopefully will be trained, vegged and ready by mid-summer...or that's my hope.

Some of my trained plants won't get the final topping. Gonna just let them be 4 colas. That's how I'm managing the short ones for now...

hey there, that would be technically main"folding" but still is pretty good, I did a first true and next node for an X pattern from the top with the next nodes and next nodes pinched for 16 tops on one of my lemon cheesecakes, the others I have just out of 2, then the next node pinched then the next after that with no extras for spacing.. this method is perfected when you use indicas and t5 equivalent intensity during veg so you dont have to cut all your nodes and save time. its a 2 month process by itself anyways.
