It depeneds if from seed than i would wait about 2 weeks and train either by superxcropping and trraining or pruning. 1/2 will be male and you can control tyhe height. If they are clones the Id flower tho depending on strain and flower period you might have a tough time managing them

Clones grow way faster - in fact - when I take clones, I give 'em a couple of days @ 24hr light and then flower the buggers pretty much straight away (12/12) due to the fact they grow soooo fast from clones (in fact, I think you're gonna need a big garden coz when those puppies you got go to 12/12 - they're gonna explode in size!). 4 to 8 weeks later and it's BUD TIME!!

i start from clones and veg for 3 weeks to 1 month before flowering. and then flower for another 7-8 weeks.

I planted these girls on the 9th as clonse... vegged for 17 days and switched to 12-12 on the 26th. Now it's been about 4 days of flowering and they have EXPLODED! look: only 22 days!

I wouldn't cut the lower branches. I think they produce sugars for the plant. Cutting them would also stress the plant from damage in my opinion.

Pruning can help your plant in a lot of ways. Personally I think you might as well cut the lower fan leaves, I cut some of mine because the block light from some of the other lower colas. Your plant will fill in nicely after a good pruning job.

they have slowed growing, I am now feeding the nutrients at full bloom strength. I am watering every other day with RO water. I water one watering with molasses and bud XL (by House & Garden Van De Zwaan), then the next watering i use Micro-Bloom combo (by cutting edge solutions), Kool Bloom (by general hydroponics), and Myco Madness (by Humboldt Nutrients). I switch back and forth between these two types of watering. I blend up 6 gallons of water for 11 plants (every 2 days). The plants are now all 38-40" tall. Here are some pictures (look at all the bud sites!!):
