Timber Grow Lights vs SK402 vs ES300

Timber grow lights recommends the redwood VS model for a 4x4 tent. (640 watts from 6 cobbs)

Spectrum king recommends the SK402 for a 4x4 (460 watt single panel light with 120 degree reflector)

My question is would you recommend this fixture, a spectrum king sk402, or 2 electric sky 300. Each setup would be right around the same price point. Light will be used for full cycle. I am just trying to get some opinions on what is going to be the best bang for my buck.

Have u considered the Amare Bar-8?
For 1270 (RIU Discount) I'd say youd be getting aquite a bit more for your money then the above options.
-Deff not the SK. Warning,Warning!!!!!
-ES-300 you can do way better for the cost.
-Timber, great stuff, just not a fan of plain cobs myself & feel anyone buying into led in "19" should be aiming for NO less then 2.3umol/j .
GoodLuck bud!
Hope that helps.

Two is better than one, so electric sky.
Timber is best at coverage with six cobs

Nix on spectrum king, to little wattage and not really a favourite brand of anyone here. Theyve been slightly shady in the past with claims and such.
Es300: last time i looked i wasnt unimpressed but they wont post their special spectrum which is a bit uninforming. I believe its a red boosted spectrum using phosphor coated leds which might be nice. Sorta like a 90cri led. Wattage is ok for the space.
Amare and timber should be good aswell. Amare has enhanced spectrum and 880w so plenty of wattage.
Not sure why youre not looking at the hlg550 which is a great option aswell as long as you dont have too short tent.
If your willing to DIY id go for 3 FoTop boards from Meijiu/Alibaba on a hlg480-48A or even a 600 for extra wattage; its the easiest DIY ever and youre cost would maybe be halfed (or even cheaper) depending on shipping and customs etc. What is this then? Imagine a 3x3' aluminium sheet full of leds, that you could lower or raise for any intensity. All you need to do is to drill a few holes in some alu-channel and screw some screws in. No heatsink needed. Spend the rest on good climate controls. Ymmv

YMMV? I'm not familiar with that one....

So for the DIY suggestion, the 3 boards would all be ran off 1 driver?

Yes. One 48V Cc driver. You can go for 600w but 480 would be enough. Or you could do it with 2 or 3 inorder to better dial in even cover. These boards are so large (900x280 mm) that you dont need a heatsink up to 200w.
Drawbacks: such a big fixture might restrict airflow a bit, from down to up. Better leave a couple of inches in between. Also, hanging: 4 points hanging, might be hard to raise and lower if you can only open the tent on one side. Ideally youd need to be able to open 2 opposing sides. Or some other clever way with 4points going into one central chain.
As with any fixture where the concentration of diodes isnt higher around the edges you may have some hotspotting in the middle. But that would be the same for almost any fixture, especially the spectrum king, or any hid/bulb like design and even 2 es300 but less so. Have a look at chinese knock off board thread for more info, several builds and ideas.
Also youd be buying from china so shipping and customs would be maybe 200$ and some dont wanna have to import stuff thru customs in case there is questions.
If you want perfect go Amare. But its aabit more power to run, but also you could probably upgrade to a 5x5 without changing the light.
If you want pretty f---in close to perfect and a lot cheaper china boards is a good option. Boards are about 80$ each.

Its reasonable to doubt the diodes are top bin, i dont know but ive seen the result and its more than good enough, even using lm561c. HLG550 is another great alternative, best diodes you can get with excellent made in america cust service. Also you would be supporting a company that came outa this forum. But: you would get 4x288 diodes. The china boards will give you 2400 diodes, so you run them at half power which more or less makes up for the difference in efficiency.

How about the Gavita pro 1650e.
Decent but still lacking allot of options & opportunities that would dramatically increase your yields along with a higher cost then the Bar-8. Same thing applies to the Fluence Spyder.
They are nice lights. Quite a bit less Thermal Mngmt on both of them and they are not tuned for full cycle either.
