You’ve likely heard people referring to weed as “sticky” or “resin-ey” before. This is one of the most common quality indicators of cannabis – and for good reason. Trichomes are the tiny “crystals” on the surface of the buds and sugar leaves (small leaves that grow out of the bud sites on a...

Educate yourself please
If I want an education I'll go somewhere else. Not that site. Anyone can make a website using a wordpress template in a couple hours and put any content on it they want. It doesn't mean the content is correct.
"This is the point at which most growers will harvest their buds, and is generally regarded as the standard for harvest. At this point, more than 50% of the white hairs of the bud should have turned dark. Using these two indicators in tandem, you can harvest at the perfect time."
Basically they're saying that when more than 50% of the pistils turn color it's peak harvest time. That's just nonsense. If you want to harvest your weed early then go ahead and go by that BAD information.
That's as bad as this chart people go by and harvest their weed early.
People that go by that bad information will harvest their weed early and then make a post asking why their weed isn't dense and smells like hay.
Too many people get caught up on just the trichomes. You see it all the time. Someone posting a picture of trichomes asking if they should harvest because they see a couple amber. When asked for a picture of the entire plant they show a plant that's covered in white pistils and obviously 3-4 weeks from being ready. Trichomes can change color for many reasons. The way people are overfeeding, spraying crap, and fondling their plants excessively are several reasons and have nothing to do with the plant being ready.
I don't even look at the trichomes. It's a waste of time as far as I'm concerned. I grow sativas and indicas and harvest both when they're ready which can be identified by just a visual look at the plant. I don't need a damn microscope to tell me when to harvest.
