THERMOSTAT START to FINISH......

A good cheap idea, is to run the lights on a night. This keeps the temps up and have air from the outside room to warm during the day (normally some central heating is on).

Another benefit is no choppers.
Yeah man I am doing this .... from 9pm to 9am the lights are on and 9am to 9pm they're off, but due to my location the (our) day temps are still really cold, I draw my intake straight from my chimney so it brings in fresh air but very cold fresh air, I may just require another heater cos the bar heater only feels warm not hot par say. at the mo I have increased the temps from 11oC to 17oC so its better, but still need a 9oC boost, I thought using a Thermostat would be straight forward but its not that at all and its even harder to get it accurate in a small space, I will suss it..........eventually, on the plus side Jack Herer is looking and smelling great! I am going to harvest her top section 1st. then knock back the lower section and my other lady (Skunk/Cheese-crossed) back into veg for a week or two then re flower hopefully with a fully working stat, thats the plan! - STELTHY

Stealthy and simple but not efficient. If you want a designer solution, I would did increase the heat capacity of the exposed surfaces by increasing the mass of the walls. Sounds: hard, expensive and needless? yes, what did you expect from an engineered solution. But it's neat.

Materials:
Two fish tanks of different sizes (both are big)
Industrial adhesive or chalk
Spray paint
Water proof aluminum foil duct tape
Pump
Water cooler
Tubing
Pump
Water with anti-bacteria agent (you can use something crazy like anti-freeze)
Water proof aluminum foil duct tape

Glue one tank inside the other.
Spray paint the inside of the inner tank (tanks where the plants go)
Add send and receive tubing
Place the water cooler at the same shelf level as the tank
Install the pump and tubing to the water cooler
Add Solution
Tape up the the space between the top opens of the two tanks.

As the lights warm the walls and the solution, that heat is stored in the water cool. No more 500 watt heater.
